i get it but its a bit harsh. its one of the main reasons i use these sites.
fair enough if the blocks on starting new threads but surely we should be able to post in existing ones??

Once you get 50 posts you will see it is a very good idea,
Btw, try not to post too much spam, Noticed in general section you posted 3 posts in a row, i know you cant edit but try spread them out a bit so moderator doesnt reset your posts.
Just wait it out, will only take a couple days

Believe it or not there are still some sellers who are willing to send the item before getting the money, they send it in good faith that the buyer will post the money/cheque/paypal 'first thing in the morning but I need it asap so can you post the item now that would be great'. Easy enough to act nice then rip someone off, in my opinion it should be made more than 50 posts.

i know what you mean. but using such as paypal helps more. id never rip anyone off and dont spend all my time on a computer so to me its just anoying. im only debating to get a good look at what people think (plus it helps my post count) as other sites ive used havent been so strict.
but it is just a forum. where people communicate.
they're not blocking pm's. surely this is the way people con the sellers. no ones gonna ask for delivery without payment in a public thread as others will interfere and advise against it.
i just presume people know better but i guess its easy to get caught out. id be anoyed if it was me but you can always check how long theyve been a member, posts and itrader score like on ebay.
why not make it a rule to be wary of new members untill they have gained status. like on ebay.

We do have the 'i-trader' buyer/seller status, unfortunately you need 50 posts to buy/sell anything
It's also the reason we stop newbies posting in the 'wanted' section, as it's easier to con people ie 'send me the cash (then i'll bugger off never to be seen again) and i'll post the item, promise '
If someone is out to scam, they'll find a way. Blocking access to For Sale/Wanted sections cuts it out before they get a chance.

Even with the 50 post ruling and the iTrader scoring system etc, we still get a great number of people saying they have paid for something, but not yet received the items etc.
I think it would be a better thing if we made it so you can only pay via Paypal... this way, if there are any disputes, they can be taken up with Paypal who have the facilities to do something about it, unlike us.

to be honest 50 post is nothing really, can easily be achieved in a week, personally i think there should be alot higher post count, as its mainly 'known members' who sell alot of stuff, or enthusiasts who make alot of posts, if your that eager to sell you can always pay for a subscription!!

I also think it should be much higher, 10x higher tbh.
That way the user will have genuine rep power and posts.

Mate, at the risk of sounding like a broken record it's all about trust and knowing someone from their online reputation as a person, nothing to do with how many posts a person has.

If you mean why were your consecutive posts merged into one post it was nothing more than a tidy-up of the thread. I've also deleted your post where you recommended someone buys 186mph-rated tyres for their saxo.....
I'm not accusing you of anything, but if mods think you are deliberately spamming to get to 50 posts to sell things, you'll be banned Best way to go about selling stuff is to become part of the community as a whole, that way people get to know you and people will buy from you because of your reputation
