yea think thats the name...have yet to see this "new" one..but chances are it looks better/is a bit smaller...
archos also do pretty good mp4's...although they aint the smallest of gagets...

ive had my ipod mini for nearly 3 years and ive had no problems with it, should last me untill i get an ipod touch

Had to harddisk mode my ipod. Firmware upgrade and its worked :d
but lost 1.5gb of music lol

least its working again now 
when i was turning mine on a while back it came onto some strand mode, kinda like it was in safe mode on a PC lol. not a clue wtf i did!
not had any problems with my Nano, as of yet, though i only use it at the gym

Leckie in some sense your lucky with 3rd ipod in 2.5years,
Im on my 4th nano in just 5months lol
1st Froze on me, and switched off and wouldnt turn back on
2nd Glide touch thingy stopped workin
3rd well was own fault really screen cracked on me when i was lifting something at work forgetting i had it round my neck.
