Monstrously sharp lens... doing a reccy before I do some promotional photos for a Farm Visitor Centre in Yarrrkshire - low as fuck light so 85L saved the day. Also animals are by far the best way to test a lens... they fuck out and move all the bloody time (AF speed response) and they're hairy (good for judging sharpness)... here's a few.

I've just forcibly taken some pics of my mother using it... this is really the first time I've had a chance to piss about the lens properly... it get better and better.

If you think the animals are sharp dude (sadly most were at f/1.2) you should check out the pics of mothersayer, you can see the wrinkles and lines in superb detail.

Yeah the 85L was an impulse buy I've always had a fascination with the thing ever since I saw one at a geeky photographer meet in london £1200 it aint cheap but I'm ignoring that fact until my bank statement comes through...

EDIT: sorry front lens diameter is only 72mm but it's the rear element that is FOOKING scary.

good shout on the TC man, it's a must sooo frustrating knowing you have this nice nice lens and it's just a bit limited in range for sports.

naa no post offices, as said before, doing ok off the back of the degree and the odd photography job.
