Does the heat not come though or the fan just not turn on?

It will be the fan motor itself behind the dash, happened to mine. You need to replace the fan, it's not too difficult just 2 nuts to undo in the scuttle panel and it will drop down, it's just fiddley to get in and out

Not necessarily it could be a faulty resistor on the fan motor itself.

Have you checked the big brown plug on the fan unit itself?
Also the wiring on the back of the switch isn't loose
Also check the earth for the dash loom is tight.
There really isn't anything else to them, unless the motor has failed internally or the switch contacts are broken.
