16v dilemma
Just seeing if anyone has any suggestions to get round this dilemma.
Basically i've just rebuilt a VTS engine as you can see on my progress thread, I did check insurance prices before beginning and insurance on a VTS isn't to bad for me.
I work in a garage as an apprentice and my licence is important to me so therefore I do declare my modifications, however getting insurance on the VTR with a VTS lump in is just impossible, i'm getting quotes of 4-5k. (only pay £500 mods declared on my VTR).
The engine is rebuilt and sat there waiting to go in, but the last thing I want is to loose my licence. I've thought about buying a VTS shell and putting the engine in that which I can get insured for around 1k, but the reality of finding a shell in as good condition and low millage as my VTR is unrealistic, and the amount of time and effort to swap everything over is really unrealistic working full time.
My final idea was to put the car on the business insurance, but I'm restricted to only using it in work hours, and I couldn't carry any passengers unless it was work related, so using the car daily outside of work is a no, which obviously is no good.
Any final ideas before I forget the 16v?
