Default Brakes

Could anyone tell me why my brakes are so rubbish considering it has discs all round its a VTR I have to jump on them and if I brake to hard they fade !! Which is a bit alarming ...

What disks + pads have you used? Also how old is the fluid in the system.

I have only had it for 2 months so I guess its had cheap stuff put on its a completely standard car no mods at all so I guess change fluid discs and pads for decent ones ..

Yeah change pads and have a look at the disks, the disks may be alright I have run some utter shit £15 disks on my type r during track days and have been "ok" so you might be alright, a fluid change and flush won't harm anything as its probs the standard fluid from factory and the cars are no spring chickens.

I recommend EBC or Ferodo. These pads provide good stopping power.

check the load compensator if it has one, when they are seized the rears barely work and overload the fronts.

also check the condition of the fluid.
