There is 2 pipe run-offs on the top of the tb that need blocking up

no, the port spacing is wrong on the 3plug/late silvertops

Massive bump up but I've tried fitting this over the last few days lads and ladies and finally got round to firing it up (after changing the TPS connector) extending the loom in places etc. etc.

First startup and the engine revs to 5k!

Second startup engine went to 3k then proceeded to 5k until I switched off.

I've rewired the TPS and the two ports on the back of the inlet i've sealed together with some rubber tubing.

I've connected the ICV as stated and packed full of silicone around the join, I'm going to buy some new hose clips (mine are worn out) and look at a more effective way of sealing the two black pipes on the Throttle body.

I have a feeling it doesn't need rewiring for the TPS...

any thoughts all?

I'll report back.

Looking, at your problem mate, it sounds similar to what Blackie had problems with. He says something about 2 run off pipes? 1 needs to be connected and the other blocked off? I am worried about fitting one now. Has anyone got a more up to date or detailed guide?

Thanks

I'm also going to fit one these days, gonna buy the kit tomorrow..
So any information is very welcome!

Did anyone of you tried to fit the inlet in combination with an upper strut brace? is it possible?

Just bought the inlet, and tried matching it to what I believe to be a single plug silver ontop head, the ports line up spot on but not the studs.
Does anyone have any pics of how the inlet bolts on or details of how you've done it?

Cheers

Turbobump.

Has anyone who's still around -blackie for example - got a definitive "this works" guide to this? As it seems some have had issues with idle and whatnot.

Just asking as I have an s1 inlet lying here doing fuckall, and it does look the part...

it works

i ran one on my green cammed R for a year and then ran one on the vtr turbo for 2 years

basically follow the guide.. but ditch the OE stepper/icv on te TB(some ppl see to think cutting the wires and using them will be better)

use the ICV thats on the 8v standard and drill/tap/fit to the inlet

if youre putting it on the rallye it should be a piece of piss as it should all plug and play i think mate

Fitted the S1 inlet on my car yesterday, but kept the VTR throttlebody just like some other thread described. Saved me from a lot of sensor trouble i guess. Totally no issues, car idled like it always did.
It required to weld custom mounts for throttle cable and ICV, a custom adapter plate for the throttlebody and two hose nipples tapped into the manifold.

I did this for the turbo car - gab there are pics in my build thread on axoc. When I took it to get mapped they said I didn't need to swap the wires on the tps and had to swap them back again. Weird because it drove with them swapped!
