One litre of petrol.. weighs 0.747 KG..
One litre of petrol weighs 0.747 KG.. So, let's just call that 3/4.
I was just wondering.. if any of you were going for a race (Say, for instance the Sax-P few laps at Trax).. You spend so long, cutting down the weight of the car.. but then you fill it up with just £30 of petrol (say that's 30 litres..), and add another 22.5 KG of weight to your car..
Maybe a stupid question, but i was thinking about it when i was looking at the spec of a saxo.. how much is origionally weighs.. this popped in my mind.

When 1/4 miling I make sure I am just above the red line, it gives me enough petrol for 15 runs and to get to the nearest shell for v-powaaa. If I have to much petrol on the way down there.. I make sure it's used beforehand.

but you have an increased drag force.... so its crap for topspeed runs but good for high street drag runs.

Yeah, so.. Instead of the government trying to get us to use public transport.. they should just make us have smaller petrol tanks! =D

yeah basically
the percentage weight increase for the saxo between no fuel and full tank is roughly 5%

flows better so you get less resistance in the intake.
air at lower levels is of a higher density
but close to the road on a mild day is warmer so i guess the 8cm figure is a trade off between that.
