Got some more done tonight...

It's not all that interesting but essential in my quest to take my time and do everything properly

First thing was to get the tap & die out

Finished the Satshifter off

Next was time to go and collect my powdercoated bits...

Lower strut brace

We had a slight problem with the satshift / wishbone bracing making the lower bar of the satshift foul. We solved that by cutting the lower bracing like so...

I'm much happier with the result, the satshift now sits flush up against the bulkhead

Hopefully more pics of shiny powdercoated bits tomorrow if the weathers kind to us

The satchshift looks like a quality bit of kit! Never seen the engine bay side of one...should help the acceleration though not having to find the gears with sloppy gear rods!

You going to get some mango or a seal of some sort in the hole through the bulkhead before the rust gets to it and spoils marks epic work?

Keep up the top work, one of my favourite cars on sax-p!

i think what you need to do josh... just cos your a flash git. brush a bit off paint on where you chipped it off to stop rust then ask colin to send you a sqauew same as on the inside without the tube welded on then sandwich it on bulk head side. if you follow me?

Haha, I'm building it on the drive, storing it in a garage. Sounds wrong doesn't it lol

Hi James,

I thought someone eagle eyed might spot that, after I took the picture I realised that as well, firstly tried some mango 2 pack paint that we used to spray the engine bay - that had dried up. Then tried the mango spray can - that was empty! So I settled on some yellow Hammerite for now & I'll order another mango spray can today once it arrives I'll go over the top of the yellow with a bit of mango

The shifter should definitely help keep it going through the gears nice and quick, the main thing for me is the gear stick is up close to the steering wheel, so more time with both hands on the steering wheel

Got some more done over the past couple of days.

Last night Shay (mrs) gave me a hand with a few bits...

Before fitting the carpet Shay & I removed the electric window switches from the loom so i can re-route it to there new location

Secondly was to cut the carpet so it fits around the satshifter gearstick;-

and the inside of the bulkhead;-

Obviously that meant the carpet was back in and fitted

Next up was to tackle the brake servo which was in a shocking state so i decided to give it the full works... So i set about sanding it all down by hand which took over 3 hours and i finished at 11:30 last night!! Left it looking like this...

2 coats of gloss black paint

Then came to fitting it... Along with the bracket which I had powdercoated

and the brake bar powdercoated as well

Sam aka the Mule helped me fit it all and cleaned all the nuts and bolts we fitted, exhibit A;-

Fitting the brake servo etc

Sam also helped me fit the drivers side wing after we gave the inner wing a layer of gloss black over the primer that Mark had put on it

and sealed the wing back on

Finally the engine bay as it currently stands...

Coming on quite quickly now

Yeah I realise that thanks mate the car will be dry stored so hopefully they won't rust too quickly lol, at least if they are 'right' when I put them in that keeps me happy lol

Any fixing supplier should do them. I spent about £80 replacing all mine. Its the non metric threads that you will struggle with, i just bought new genuine ones as the coating on them will last a few years

Not really. Both A2 and A4 are corrosion resistant and come in the same strengths. You will pay more for A4 when its not really needed.

Thanks Matt

Got a bit more done today...

Firstly me & dad started fitting the brake lines through the whole car, to do that I had to put the rear end up on axel stands so we could get underneath which made my wheel pile even higher lol

After that we started fitting the lines to the back end first

Then we ran out of clips that were either broken or damaged, I'll get some ordered from Citroen on Tuesday. So we popped them up into place on the master cylinder

The eagle eyed of you will notice that there are only 3 there, that's because 1 was broken :O

Seeing as our main job was over until I can get another brake line & some new clips from Citroen I carried on with other bits and bobs

Firstly bonded the black plastic part onto the bottom of the window screen to help it stay in place

And lastly I modified the steering column bracing to stop it fouling the satshift while retaining ridigity of the steering column

And lastly 1 of my hispec nipple covers had gone missing so Tom aka unreal donated his nipples to me

Lol
