I like the idea and there is no harm in trying, if its crap and doesnt work just get rid, if it works and people get involved it will be a good addition to the site.

I was getting at something like this the other day but didnt get a response like this lol! Each month who ever wins go into a section of progress threads where people don't comment then people can see all the updates and spec without going through 50+ pages.

Really like this idea. Heard about it on ccuk and apparently it works really well...

Anyone put it forward to a mod yet? Simo is very rarely on so maybe Scott?

Better idea than these "best car on saxp threads" that end up in superspam.

I have no issues with this going ahead, unfortuantely im tight on time at the moment with work and moving house this week so cant actively "set something up".

If you can agree a format between you all im happy to start a thread or if one of the mods wants to manage then batter in

as i said before have a thread where people can post their nominations up and a picture of the car in question

have the thread open for a certain amount of days , then start new thread with nominees names in a poll

and for each name have a picture of the cars in question and a small spec list

then let the voting commence for a week or so then see who wins

Sound's like a good idea to me. But try and keep it so the thread can't be posted in? Just make it a vote only. That way, no fuss is kicked up. Hopefully people would actually think about it too, rather than voting for their mate or who they like the most on SaxP personality wise.

Saxo_Mike, thankyou for you suggestion i think that would be the best way to do it. Here is the suggestion....what does everybody think???

Have a thread titled "January feature car nominations"

strict no spam rules and simply post a picture and username of your nominated user

leave the thread active for the first week of the month to allow all users to view and nominate who they want to

after the week take all nomination into a poll only thread with images and a small spec list of each of the nominated cars where users can vote once only for a 2 weeks and have a seperate thread for spam as i'm sure it'll just get fed into multiple threads if there isn't one

after all voting has happened post a thread for the winner with pictures and full spec list

^ What saxo_mike suggested is good, but it will still be a spam pit and people will still post "Nice car" etc etc would just be another big clean up job for the mods imo

I think you should have to submit the entry picture to a moderator who can then put it into a locked thread which is stickied. Change the title monthly, then place a link in the closed thread to a seperate one in gen chat that has the poll.

Also what about the 12 winners for the year battle it off at the end for the yearly winner??
