Question Water in rear lights

Hi Guys,

I've got a 2002 VTR, and the left (passenger side) rear light looks to be full of water/condensation .

It's still on the original factory lights, so it's not as if I can blame the previous owner for fitting lexarse lights wrong or anything !

Is this common? What's the cause? And more importantly, what's the cure?

Cheers,
Ed.

Take out a bulb and heat the light with a hairdryer until the condensation has gone then replace the bulb.

This is quite common mate so I wouldnt worry about it Just take the light out, give it a wipe out and fit it back properly.

Thumbs up Just to say...

Thanks all .

Did this one evening during the week.

Took the light unit out and removed the bulb holders and (after tipping most of the water away) I hairdryer'ed it out.

One word of warning to anyone else reading this; be careful with the hairdryer. It gets bloomin hot, and the circular holes for your bulbs might not end up still being circles!

The rubbers were dead dry so I Vaseline'd them up nicely .

Purely out of interest, why did Citroën only fit one rear foglight? The left hand lamp unit has a holder for the bulb (and all the electrical connections for it) but there was no bulb fitted and the hole where you poke the bulbs though still had a blanking piece of plastic over it, proving that no second rear foglight has ever been fitted to it!

Mate i had this problem.... I just Drilled 2 small holes in the light at the bottom ( obviously i drilled the holes so you cant see when there back on the car ) now any water / condensation just drains away... problem solved.
