Firewalls?
Why is my computer inundated with offers of Polker, Porn and Diets?
I added a new firewall yesterday but it's not worked.

Windows firewall should be ample I find! If I were you, I'd download Spybot Search and Destroy, and CCleaner, and get scanning!

This is easy to do? I don't know what should and shouldn't be on there, last time I deleted all the stuff I needed and broke it.

LOL, its very hard to delete stuff you shouldnt.
As said get adaware and spybot search and destroy.
Get AVG too if you dont have an antivirus.

I've got Norton and the firewall I downloaded was Comodo
It was actually surprisingly easy to delete the imporant stuff!

Get a decent pop up blocker... does the trick for me.
And try stay away from dodgey porn sites...

Use SpyBot and AVG and if you can, Microsoft Security Essentials.
Those 3 running alongside each other have never bought any badness into my PC at all.

sounds like u have spyware, adware inside your pc
a firewall wont stop the dodgy popup because ur already infected, like said above get some anti-spyware/adware programs to remove it

Got spybot running now its stopped everything except 'prestige casino' There's one thing that it says needs deleting but it won't let me delete it. :/

I have a 'trojan' its detected but it won't let me delete it cos it says i'm not the administrator. But I am.

Right click on Spybot when you run it, there will be an option in the menu that says "Run as Administrator" try doing that, running the scan again, and try removing it

What I meant was I don't have a clue how to format a hard drive.
Also Dave... I tried running as administator like you said and it won't let me

Step 2, restart your computer in safe mode, basically just keep pressing F8 when your computer is loading up, you are supposed to press it when the windows screen comes up but the timing can be tricky so just keep pressing it til you see the option "Boot in Safe Mode" or something.
Then run Spybot and try then
