Slim line fan.
Looking for people advice on what slim line fan would be best to use on my track,
I have looked at spal fans, they are a lot more than the cheaper ones on eBay ones, are they worth the extra price?
also guess 12 inch would be the right size to use?
Any advice for anyone is welcome,
Thanks
Andy

i run the standard saxo one 100bhp vtr one (got the 2 speed relay on the front) and i didnt have any problems with temperature on the track or when i come in tbh... few of my mates run the cheap ebay ones and they have been more than impressed with the cooling on them and the reliablity... 3 years ones had it on his road car and not one problem... drops the temperature out really fast!!

The cheap ebay ones seem to be well up to job, I've had good experience with them and know quite a few people who use them on track with good results.

My car is prime example they do the job, because of the way everything is, the bay temps get pretty high, but still keeps the car in check..even on hot days in traffic

My car will not be in traffic, at most sitting ready to go on the track, I have ordered a cheaper one of the bay for now, I will use it, see how I get on, if I don't like it, I think ill just go and buy a spal one.
Thanks again for all the input lads.

Don't get the eBay ones, had one on my old engine and it couldn't control the temp in traffic on the way to the ring - and that was with my old engine which was less powerful than your engine will be
Now got a SPAL fan and it's fantastic - well worth the money mate

Just bought this on behalf of a mate for the oil cooler on his legend... Gonna see how it performs when it arrives... Its cheap enough they do bigger so it will fit a saxo then shall have another option...

looked at the info on that fan
its say it can work either way
EG reverse polarity
thats shite
blades cannot have a good shape to work in both directions
kenlowe + spal use different blades for suck or blow ,
but they don,t cost £20
think that should tell you something
you also must run a relay with big wires at least 40amp or it will not be able to suck enough amps to run fast enough or wires will become hot--thin skinny wires means it,s not very powerful
take a look at std fan wires for size
kenlowe fan can spike to 80amps on start up ,so it needs a 20amp fuse
this one says its 80w
so volts x amps =watts
12volts x 6.6 amps =80watts
so its not very powerfull- not even the wattage of a big h/lamp bulb

its just for an oil cooler so that it will aid the cooling, its not for sat in traffic, the car will be moving all the time just for the slower corners or behind other cars to aid the cooling and keep it a sensible temperature as its only oil cooled... it is only a 9" fan as well its diddy...
