No doubt he never snapped a shaft. It's probably good for about 500hp. The cv joint is off a saxo automatic with 69hp or whatever it is. How long do you think they will last?

Yeah yellow or white is as close as we've got. On a pc/laptop it's easy to miss but it stands out more on an iPad/phone for some reason. Luckly Im online in the evenings mostly on the iPad or I'd have been caught out a LOT lol

An ma cv joint wont take 350 bhp so i wouldnt sell a mix shaft and tell you would

I only use full BE shafts and never had an issue, our ones are standard ones cut and welded
They guy who makes them runs welded one on a 1200 v8 drag car and has never broken one

I love these "bought not built" threads. You may as well just keep handing your cash to Ricky and let him just get on with it and hand you a quick boosted car done and dusted.
If you have to ask what an ICV is you should just leave it to the builder.
Its much less hassle for you that way, no offence intended.

First impression; I don't like you.

I know what an icv is that wasn't my question they read it or I wrote it wrong. My question was more about how important it is as to what it does due to them talking about some ecu's not supporting some icv's or something.

Okay, here's the thing.

Let's say I'm a mechanic, and your a lad who knows me.

I come to you and say "Hey, I know you was on about supercharging your gti soon and u was asking some advice as I have my charged vts, well I think I'm going to start doing turbo builds if I can sort everything out, would you like to be one of my demo builds? All parts you buy through me will be at cost price, and no labour charge for building the engine/fitting all the auxiliary parts ect.. What do ya say jack?"

Would you say no to a free fucking build? I doubt that. I was going to have a go myself you only learn by trying, and I'll be at his garage with him every step of it so get your head out your ass and stop talking shit when you know fuck all pal

You really did ask what It does. I maintain the point in my post. I'm sorry you took offence, it wasn't intended bud.
And yes I would be happy if someone offered to build mine for next to nothing, good on ya there matey

Maybe I was a little sarcastic and I apologise for that. Its just my nature (and grumpy old age)
I'm sure you will be really happy with the end product and you'll certainly learn lots, and that can only be a good thing.

I'd only just woken and was quick on the defence. Forgive me *cuddle*

I know what the icv does I was wondering what it does when its not supported by said management. Maybe I should have worded it better really

As said before it would be silly to build it myself when I'm offered it free, I'll be there to learn it all cos if anything goes wrong I can try to sort things myself but I'm no vehicle mechanic. I have nvq's in mech engineering but pumps and machines I worked on are far cry different to an engine

Wheels;

Blue C5 steels R888s
Blue superlegeras' toyo T1R's/Uniroyal rainsport 2's.

Brakes;
Brembo's Or GTI6's with good pads and discs?

Suspension;
Gaz GHA's should do right? Either that or I have some billie B8 dampers sat in the garage I could do something with them?

Opinions/thoughts guys?

Been concentrating on the new nana gti for now and I can't buy much or make much progress right now as I'm waiting for my insurance to come around.. 16th of feb..

If I had the above parts I would do the following:

Wheels/tyres - If tyres fit, put the R888s on the superleggeras as the brake cooling will be far better compared with the C5 steelies.

Brakes - Personally I would go for the GTI-6 ones as Brembos are known to squeal which will do your swede in very soon. Even with standard disks and pads, the GTI-6 set up will do it justice. So a decent brake pad coupled with some R888s and your on the right track.

Suspension- I have personally had bad experiences with Gaz GHA dampers. If you have the Gaz coil over set up etc, you could run that but use the B8 dampers?

i dont get the obsession with b8s on this forum
not in direct at you but in general
there are better dampers in the billie range
i wouldnt even consider b8s in a coilover they arent designed for the sort of lbs they run
and yes you can fit lower lb springs but too low (into b8 rates) and you go coilbound

Alex you should know b8's and a lower brace means you will own everything on track

Use the brembos with the right discs and they dont sqeal

I cooked my gti6 brakes with 2 laps of donnington at fcs last year and that was with only 260 bhp and a light weight ax
