Wheels wise, imo, I think your in a major pickle as the Dub scene is rife with BBS fans, the new Rotiform following plus the obscene and obscure alloy fitment club. Which ever way you go there is bound to be a lover and a hater. Main thing is pick the wheels YOU want. My car philosophy's are 'be a crowd teaser, not a crowd pleaser', and 'why blend in when you can stand out?'.

Build the car for you!
I agree with you, to a degree. Whilst I agree that being different is good, there is a reason the VW scene is rife with BBS/Rotiform/3SDM and that's because not only does it look good, it's a tried and tested method of having a (general overview) nice car.

Nobody wants to read/receive hate, whether they say they do or not.

Personally, I'm not a fan of Rotiform or 3SDM because of their popularity and general cheapness (Until you start looking at Forged or 3 piece wheels) but that is just my opinion.

Tom, if you were to purchase those Watercooled INDs, I'd hate you forever through jealousy lol

Your right Jay, everyone has personal preference's regards their car. I like building my car for me and am pretty thick skinned when it comes to people's opinions regards how I mod what I drive as a daily. But I do fully understand how people can be easily offended with criticism towards their cars.

Car's are an individual taster, like clothes and music. But if someone criticises the way you dress or the music you listen to you'd tell them to do one! Same should apply to your car in my eyes.

And those Watercooled IND's are the dogs danglies!

They're my absolute favourite wheel in the world at the minute!

I'm not usually a fan of hidden hardware (3 piece splits that bolt from the back to hide the bolts) but the wheel below look incredible! The centres seem to float, if that makes sense!

That said, they're incredibly expensive!

So the fronts have been wound all the way down to match the rear, won't physically go any lower now! The car sits at a perfect height in my opinion, no arch gap and a sensible(ish) ground clearance!

Some pics from this evening:

Also got a few more goodies in order, will update here once they arrive
Hope you guys like!

I haven't updated here in a while. A fair bit has changed to the Rocco, I've fitted a full Scirocco R exterior kit, some custom carbon bits and sold the Rotiforms for some VW Motorsport alloys. Oh, and it's booked in for air next month!

I'll let the pictures do the talking:

Hope you guys like it.

Like what you've done with this looks smart, been interested in these myself but can't decide if I'd rather have a change from VW

Looks ace on the motor sport wheels. Just perfect IMO - no need for anything else.

Aye agree with this - much prefer the new wheels to the Rotiforms. Always liked the Scirocco... looks spot on with the R kit a well.

Any other plans though? I know the VAG lumps tune nicely?

Thanks dude! Plan is to save and get some 3 piece splits for next year. Performance wise, I'll be putting a stage 1 map on soon which will take it to 200bhp.... Long term plan is to do an engine swap when mine goes completely, probably stick a 3.2 r32 lump in it or even better, an rs4 lump

I got the car back a couple of weeks ago from CarAudioSecurity, they did an amazing job on the air install. Here is how it currently stands...

Hope you like it!

No worries buddy! I don't generally like aired cars - I'm more of a track fan but this is an exception - it's been done properly and I respect that

Aye my old man used to have a SuperCopa Leon with the diesel lump and that used to go well - does yours have the CR or the slightly older one... I forget the name of it?

He said if he were to keep it he'd get it chipped up to 200bhp/300 torque... we've got a new Cupra 290 and that can get to naughty speeds VERY quickly...

Looks nice, I much prefer the latest alloys on it to be honest.

Thought I might have seen your car at VW fest today until I realised where you're based!

Because a car is on air doesn’t necessarily mean it’s not performance oriented. With the right setup (and bank balance) companies like AccuAir offer air suspension packages that can outperform high end aftermarket spring setups.

Very very touchy subject, we have had a few friends with high end kits have various components fail on trips to the ring and track days. At the end of the day there is a hell of a lot more components to go wrong with air than springs but it's a hell of a lot more easier to live with. Plus it looks fucking amazing so who can blame any one for using air.

I meant the air, expensive wheels, everything clean and shiny. I get bored of it quite quickly.

My 106 has got stonechips all over the front end of it and I couldn't care less. Don't get me wrong, it's loved and cherished, but it is 14 years old at the end of the day. It gets driven properly though, and soon to be completely stripped with a sole bucket seat and harness etc.

Modern cars (and endless motorway driving in most modern cars) is boring. I like the 'arse on seat, get on with it' attitude that's all
