Direct X Help
I just installed star wars republic commando for pc, end of installation it says install direct x 9.0? i say yes. It goes through the procedure, as soon as i click next to start installation, it comes up straight away, "the components installed are now ready to use" But everytime i double click the game to start it it says the same thing. "Star wars republic commando needs to update your directX installation before you can proceed. Do you want to perform the update now?" I click yes, and it does the same thing, comes up the wizard guide,, agree to the terms and conditions, then says click next to begin installtion, then comes up straight away again that its installed ready to use, and it doesn't even do anything. I've got directX 10 prefix or something already installed. I tried uninstalling that to install direct x 9.0 instead, but i go to dxdiag in the start, run menu. And it says directX 10 is still installed. Anybody help please?

If you're on XP then DX9c is the highest it'll upgrade to, Vista or Windows 7 and DX10 may be installed.
Remove all existence of both the game and DX9/10 off your computer and try again, updating your graphics drivers might do the job as well

Argh, you can't uninstall DX10 - remove DX9 and go from there, maybe try downloading it off the internet and installing it instead of from the disc.

i deleted the directx folder by going to start, run, regedit and the HKEY LOCAL MACHINES ETC. I read about it online, now im reinstalling my game, and going to choose to install directx 9 after installation complete. Hopefully this works, cos if not, God knows what to do
