Oil pressure gauge
Worth it? Or just a distraction while on track.

If you only look at it once every 2 laps you could prevent serious damage to your engine , in comparisonto not having any information at all.

If you set the gauges correctly so that at optium the needles are pointing all straight up everytime you hit the straight a glance down and look to make sure there all pointing up and not bending to the right its all good, thats what i did in karting... I had digital readouts but had enough of a chance to look, read them, read a book and look back up, its how well you know the tracks and how long you know youve got before having to brake... As above, it can save serious damage to the motor...

my mate has a shift light on his steering column as a warning to save his engine lol very simple and would definatly get your attention if pressure drops

Just thinking about starvation on track but as said how much damage is done by the time you notice it.

Dave, serious question, how often do you hold long sweeping corners though, the ones that would likely be real surge inducing? From what I've seen of your (very cool) videos, it's sharp aggressive corners one after another, rather than (say) a long drawn out, tightening bend or something.

These engines are not normally that bad for oil pick up, I know many Saxo do track days and be ok.
Just go and enjoy the day, and keep a eye on the levels.

Same, but with A048's.
(I do have a PugSport sump baffle though)
My dash only has tacho, water temp and oil pressure. Don't need to know anything else lol.
