Finally, paint could be better on the box but in the end its not going to really be on view once all the boost pipes are over it

Okay its been a while. first off i went to london at the weekend and saw this

Sunday i ordered this and it arrived this afternoon, just need to purchase a bolt for the ECU side one as i snapped one a few years back on an old car so a trip to the high tensile bolt place tomorrow hopefully then the engine is ready and i have everything i need to fit the engine, aside from the fact that i need to put in my heater matrix and rear rad hoses first to make the job easier.

Heater matrix is on order tonight hopefully it will arrive probably friday

So now decesions, do i 1. Keep the J4 covers, which currently are kinda shiny but will get my mate to machine polish them to a mirror like finish and run the breathers out the end of both sides and braided catch tank hoses to a oil catch tank which will probably be a mocal one since im not happy with the 'rep i have.

Or 2. Use JP4 covers, reason why i think i may be not using these is because i will have to have them painted gloss black to match my cambelt cover and inlet manifold and two, they dont look as OEM.

Example of covers:

Edit: Also, are the images in this post working or not?it seems to be saying "image not found" on this forum but not over on 106oc.

Not sure why those images still arent working. odd.

Sold the compbrakes for a tenna profit, far too much trouble.

bought some standard topmounts and fitted the struts today.

Though my ARB looks very odd for some reason, and so does the link. what do you guys think?

Recently bought a Heater box & matrix, throttle body and some rear seat belts, when the throttle body arrived the part that holds the valve blade in has been "modified" does anyone think this will have weakened it, i dont fancy running some decent boost pressure and snap it off...

finally tidied up the front end of the car so i could sort out the battery wiring.

Tomorrows job will be tightening up the bias valve properly and attempting to make a bracket for it. then the heater matrix can go in

does anyone have a full set of heater hoses lying around for a 106 that i could have for postage and packaging costs? willing to book the courier myself

Oh and i polished the J4 covers properly, not happy with them still because im so obsessed with trying to keep stuff as best as possible but it will have to do for now until next winter when they come off again for a refresh

Note. they still need some good metal polish on them

sooo spent the last few weeks doing a head gasket, cambelt and stem seals on a friends astra with him so not really been doing much with the 106.

But got around to buying a heater matrix and some other bits and bobs.

noticed that i totally forgot to put my dust covers on the B8's so i had to take my struts off the car again. silly me.

one side sorted didnt bother with the other as some bits i didnt want to move as i had just painted them were on that side

before the heater matrix went in i thought i best bolt down all the steering column properly to the rack ect.. turns out the dick who i bought the "non pas" setup off sent me a non pas rack and a pas column so they dont fit.

On the lookout for a new column now so if anyone has or knows of a non pas rack gimme a shout otherwise its scrapyard saturday if i have time.

other than that nothing much has happened, bought a few mounts, and random brackets i needed for the engine but as soon as i sort the matrix and buy my rad hoses the engine can go in the car

Soooo finished painting my outer cambelt cover.

Kinda had a bit of a tidy up in the garage, put my discs and wheels onto the car after re-fitting the dust covers on my b8's vayse i forgot to put them on when i assembled the struts.

which meant that i could put my engine mounts onto the engine ready for drilling the arm out for the vibratechnics one, which ill probably do tomorrow evening

Blah blah blah pictures

currently looking at some covers that are polished better than mine, may go have a look at them in person this weekend, sunday and if they are what i want ill purchase them

So some big changes. got a full doner car for the project since a 106turbo cropped up for the right price.

List of parts im keeping

DP Engineering downpipe
Custom exhaust
Omex 600 Ecu & Loom
Gizmo Boost controller
Mocal Oil cooler relocation setup & Relocated Oil filter
16v Forged Low Comp Engine - Pec Rods, Wossner Pistons, turbo cams. full re-build.
633cc injectors
rs500 full alloy large radiator & header tank setup
Removable radiator panel(Means Cutting mine off)
Wheels with 4 brand new ad08s
yellow brembos(that makes it 3 sets i have in the garage now)

So a lot to do on my car over the next week.

first things first we set off at 9am this morning down to peterborough.

around 1pm we were nearly home and stopped off for a coffee.

Waited for a few very helpful friends to come around so we could slowly start to strip the car down the best we could, since it was all built to a good quality and it wasnt the normal kind of stuff it actually took quite a while to work through it all.

but we got there in the end around 8pm, that was a solid 5 or 6 hours with a food break and two separate people coming to fetch parts off me(i chat far too much)

Messy Garage again!

Unsure why the images wouldnt work agian on the previous post, ive tried editing them several times. oh well.

Not much gone on, ive stripped the silver one down pretty much all thats left is the boot wiring, braided lines from the rear bulkhead to the rear brakes which im getting paid for tomorrow so ill take them off on saturday.

Going to meet a bloke tomorrow evening to swap my KMS setup, loom ecu ford coilpack cossie map sensor ect..

for his Brand new, unfitted Group N bilstein kit, plus some cash plus some Smoked MR's for the rear, love those lights so saves me 60 quid.

Progress will happen a little quicker when the other cars out the way, first of all i need to get all my mates shit out my garage so i have room to work on both sides, the wiring loom needs to be fed all the way through the passenger side hole as its no longer a 2 piece loom

Oh.

and i have this

anyone know where i can find instructions for setting up ect..

and a final quesiton for anyone, the wiring loom does not include a lambda sensor at all, is this odd? the guy who built it said something about atspeed not using them(he was having it mapped by colin)

Anyone care to shed some light on that for me? I will be getting a wideband and keeping an eye on the afr anyway, any suggestions on makes? innovate seems to be a brand used a lot but any more anyone would recommend?

Once mapped lambda is a luxury not a necessity. For mapping make sure you just have a bung in the downpipe for your mapper to connect to as it is generally needed for mapping. Wouldn't be unusual to not have one once setup. I certainly didn't for 2+ years.

Re gizmo - google for ms-ibc manual. It's the first result...

If your mapper isn't used to them they won't like them to start with. You can't specify the boost you want set just by dialling in a psi figure etc. you have to set duty and gain, and go through a dyno pull to see what that equates to.

I wont be playing around with the gizmo once its setup that will be it itll simply be there to show me the psi.

Still u sure on who i want to map it.

Local to me there is gr performance who have good rep plus they are a short drive rather than having someone across the country do it
