Help a fatty out!
Right, since being at university i have put on a fair bit of weight.
I have been looking at diets etc on saxperience, and on google, because i have just won a years gym subscription for my university.
Now heres my problem.
In all the diets it suggests eating tuna, and eggs, i think for protein, as well as chicken.
Now i HATE egg, and tuna.
I like chicken but i wouldnt want to eat it every day, and its expensive too.
I know most of you probably arent as fussy as me so you may not have answers. But hopefully someone will be able to suggest me something to replace tuna and egg with.
Thanks!

Cheers for advice.
Funny you should mention water, i wasnt drinking enough and the doctor said it wasnt doing me good and to drink more. Since i have started drinking more water i am eating a fair bit less!
What is best for cardio? There is bikes, cross trainer, treadmill, and rowing machine?
Cutting out drinking will be hard but ill try my best haha.

I would say heavy weights is better tbh, I dont believe in the high rep low weight myth.
Theres loads of proteins out there, you can have chicken one day, turkey the next.
If you dont like tinned tuna then try tinned mackrel or tinned salmon.
If you dont like eggs then you can you fatty protein like pork. And throw in some omega tablets to replace any omega3 you're missing out from the eggs.

You dont have to cut out drink completely, just reduce it to say one night a week. And when you do drink try and reduce the lager, replace it with vodka and coke (diet coke lol).
Cardio I would say running outside is the best imo. If not go on the treadmil and mix it up, do a steady jog with sprinting in between and incline fast paced walks.

Oh i hate turkey too, im so picky haha.
Would turkey be more expensive then chicken any way?
Maybe im just to used to eating cheap horrible food and thats why i think chicken is so expensive lol.
Ill try mackarel, i think my friend used to dry it last year at uni and it looked good. Ill look into the omega things, guess i can get it from holland and barretts?
I know a route i could run, ill have to get some trainers though. Running in my converse last year ruined the soles of my feet aha, and mate my knees hurt!
Cheers for the advice.
Ill try high weight low rep and vice versa see what benefits me better. I guess it depends on the person?
And ill try and cut out some drink then. I dont drink beer any way, nor coke. I just drink dark rum straight usually, probably a few litres a week. Ill cut it down to just fridays.

How much is a macdonalds meals these days ? about £4 ? Four Chicken Breasts in Asda are £4, thats 4 meals of protein, do the maths.
Yeah I think you're so used to eating shit that its destroyed your taste bugs for proper healthy foods lol, just man up and force it down !
I got 360 omega3 1000mg tablets from simplysupplements.com, free p+p for just under a tenner.
And it doesnt makes a difference on the person. Just lifting heavy weights is better for building muscle / fat loss than high reps light weights.
Oh if your knees hurt abit thats normal, mine do sometimes. But if they hurt to the point its too painful, then try something else like the cycle machine or fast paced walks for longer duriation. Just until youve built up your leg muscles more to take some of the stress off your knee joints.

Seriously if you knew some of the shit that went into that crap it would be more to make you throw up than some decent fresh ingrediants meal ! Just gotta get used to it thats all.
Get omega3 from egss and fatty fish such as salmon, mackrel etc. Its basically healthy fats which are essential to the body, help build muscle and are good for the heart and joints!

Ok cheers fella,
and i know about how bad subway is, my friend works there and has told me, but for some reason i just go back haha.
Ill go for a shop this weekend and get myself some of this healthy food.
Im guessing i can just stick to my usual 3 meals a day, i dont really have time in the day to eat 5+ meals because of my changing day plan from day to day.

Try 4 meals if you can, you can allways cook some the night before and box them up.
Add two protein shakes aswell, that can make up the 6.

haha class. Diet advice for picky eaters is impossible. Heres a few pointers
Stay away from High GI carbs (google it for a proper definition) e.g potatoe, sugars, pasta etc
drink ice cold water (this changes your core temperature forcing your body to heat it up, burning calories)
Have good fats, green veg and quality protein (Most take preperation and arnt cheap, might be hard for a student ha)
Eat as soon as you wake and every 3 hours after that untill you go to bed
Weight training is the best from of exercise for fat burning (at least 3 times a week Id say)
Take some supps for energy/fat burning. Id recommend caffeine and green tea, combo I usually use when I wake and before the gym.
Good luck

cross trainer is the best for burning fat. tbh you really dont need protein shakes unless you want to get bigger muscular wise. low weight with alot of reps burns fat and also increases muscle. high weight less reps highly increases muscle so to burn fat you want low weight and lots of reps i say about 6 sets of 10 on 14s each session, if you feel like you can go more do it until theyre dead.

Cheers for all that, is wholemeal pasta still high GI? i love pasta
Not sure ill be able to fit in eating every 3 hours. By eating you dont mean a full size meal do you?
I used to go gym every day except sat and sunday, but i eat crap still so didnt really notice any difference.
Oh yeah and thanks for the good luck ima need it haha.

Seems people disagree one what type of weight training to do.
I guess il just have to try both. I do just want to loose weight though i think, i have fairly big arms already and my legs have always been rediculously strong. Its just my chest thats lagging behind so looks kind of silly!
For the caffiene do i get tablets or just drink black coffee haha?
