Default 1.6 16v help

Hi. I have problems getting through the car in the Swedish MOT.
CO at idle and at 2500rpm.

the car runs really well when you drive it, absolutely no problems.

But at idle and when u rev it at standstill, you can sometimes hear missfire. it is also difficult to keep it at stable rpms.

Only when the car get warm..

I did messure watertemp sensor to 250 when it was prettywarm.

Any ideas?

Looks like the cat isn't hot enough or it's knackered.

Have you got some O2 showing?
Also, can you check the inlet manifold pressure at idle? (ideally with live data on a scan tool)

Hey. Car was hot. I had some more problem when i dif check watertemp sensor, and unplugged lamda etc.. when car was on. After that the car could die at even speed at 2.500rpm, when it did happend i did just press clutch and rev, was allright again..

I did never reset Ecu until now, and i put in 20liter petrol. After that i had even idle and no missfire att 2500rpm. But my co was over 3.5 now!
2 days later idle and small missfire at standstill came back.

I got FR6DC sparkplugs. Last emessions i had denso k16tt.

Next Think i Will try New sparkplugs, and coilpack?

That's correct your lambda is working.

When you unplug, the engine won't run. Except at high load. So it would rev smooth when you press throttle and any speed over 4000rpm. That would also make the CO figure really really high.

Your CO is high (0.6/0.5 and 0.8/0.3) because your catalytic converter is probably old and no longer efficient.

Your ppm is high because of the misfire. Try new spark plugs first, then maybe a coil pack.

I used normal bkr6ez spark plugs. Just don't fit spark plugs with 2,3 or 4 electrode.

HCs aren't particularly high, not high enough to be anything mechanical.

If the Catalyst was hot enough on test, then it just isn't effective any more.

I would check that you have a working lambda by testing the voltage from it when hot. It should oscillate from arounf 0.1V up to 0.9V.

If it's working then your Catalyst needs replacing. If the lambda isn't working, the cat won't work properly either.
