it does its job lol not much to it. the car runs smooth. had a slight issue with a very low idle yesterday with a warm engine, strange...
had one occasion where it wouldnt start, could of flooded, may been the ecu, may of been the car not sure. for the money id say better than spending on a stock ecu map.
spur of the moment trackday at cadwell yesterday lol. car went ok. was nice to drive caddie in decent warm weather.
arse end is very lively since ive raised it. had it on two wheels most laps
there will be pictures to prove
the abs is going in the bin. i dont know how ive lived with it for so long it sucks, i just cant go deep into hairpin without lifting a wheel, i need to be braking and its backing them off.
it was also nice of the marshalls to come over at lunch to have a chat with me. they was asking if the me if the car and i was ok after my last time there...
i have some footage but batteries died in the camera after 20 minutes
im at Bedford Gran Turismo circuit on monday 28th.

i think theres a 1:44.50 in it as it is.
id love some proper timing gear but it is not allowed. i must say i am getting my times from timing footage.

How much were the wheels and they are around 4 point something kilo's are they not?
Also what did you use to blank off the fogs?

those wheels are quite expensive. i cant remember exactly how much i paid for them but i have two sets incase i damage one like i have just done.
theyre 4.9 kilo rims 15" x 7" wide.
the smashed rim happened at about 85mph so took it well. i turned in and the back end kicked out making the front end dig in, the front end ended up cutting the cornera lot but i was sideways. there is no kerb on this particular left hand 90deg corner and the tarmac drops off 8-10" so on the way back on the track i kerbed the rim a little.
front fogs have been blanked off with sparco mudflap. loads of people think i should be using the holes as ducts for the braks but as i dont have brake fade issues im keeping the bumper like that for better aero
i think i am rebuilding the head before a next outing. the lifters are very tappy when engine is warm. still making lots of power but the head gasket is now spraying a thin mist of oil onto the chasis leg. id say its been well ragged.
id say the lifters have done 100k and dont like 708 cams + lots of revs at their age.
so the rebuilt head... not sure on headwork for what it costs wont give me much in return. im unsure on solid lifters and raising the rpm more or seeing if i can get catcam or newman uprated lifters. im not sure whats on the market.
will re-seat valves, fit new valve seals and possibly springs. followed by a light skim.

Ring matt at qep. He's still selling parts so should be able to help with the head rebuild.

and how many years have you used the saxo at trackdays?
Just getting an idea as i've done 5 ring laps and countless Brands Hatch laps (over space of one day)

Mate, remember that if you start getting like 8 k + rpm limits then I would start looking at the bottom end too, just to be safe,
I would stick with the standard followers and some car cam springs and some good head work maybe talk to sandy about it?
He could give you any idea on what works well?
But if you start looking at wilder cams then pocket pistons would be needed,
But I dnt think soils lifters would be needed really unless you wanted some wild cams Like ph4 range.
Looks good, the lap times at cadwell looking very good lol

ph4 are a hydro grind cam, much like the 734.
Still need the pistons being done though.

im just rebuilding a standard head. no more power till next year. if i fit pocket pistons, headwork and cams im only going to see another 20hp not worth the money.

It not the peak power mate, but yer peak power you will have 20 more around that, but would have more torque, but 20 bhp in a little weight car is a good amount.
But fair eunf, if you plan to re biuld the head get some head work, would help bait. But down to how much you want to pay.
