Yes ! YLOD can be fixed !

I have done one myself

you will need thermal paste and
a good temperature controlled
heatgun

you need to heat up the two CPU's
in order to re-flow the solder to the
main board

It is a pain of a job , but better than
paying GAME £90 to do it !

PM me if ya need help !

ye as shitbird says its alot cheaper that someone doing it for you if you dont have a heat gun rent one for a day might be around 15 pound i think and also make sure you buy a good thermal compound. also if you have a ps3 its worth changing the thermal compound every 6 months buddy not a hard job

I bought a faulty one of a lad on here and heres how I sorted it

- Dismantle unit (obvious lol)
- Cleaned all dust etc from fans and internal case
- Once at mainboard I cleaned off the thermal compound from the cpu, gpu and the heatsinks
- Applied liquid flux to the underside of the cpu and gpu
- Applied heavy weights to each corner of the mainboard
- Heated the cpu and gpu for around 30 secs each with a heatgun (this can flex the board hence the weights to keep the board flat - if you don't have weights tin cans of soup etc will do)
- Waited 20 mins to cool down then applied Arctic Silver 5 thermal compound - thin layer almost see through!
- Reassembled unit
- Bobs your uncle and fannies your aunt, it works fine!!
