Fitted gaz coilovers this morning, only problem was to drop the struts I had to cut a pinch bolt off as I rounded it. Just waiting for new bolts but I'm nearly there. Should get them tomorrow.
Fitting them was alright, mate just said help yourself in his garage. Much easier with air tools. Only took this pic as my hands were a bit manky.
Had to fit new drop links as well as one of the boots had split, easy as just an unexpected trip to the motor factor.
Really can't wait to drive it and see what it's like!

I managed to buy one off someone the other day. Hopefully his definition of mint is the same as mine. The last 'mint' one I got sent ended up with the scrap man. Glad I got a refund.

All done sort of,
I need to go get the back axle done then lower the front to how I want it. Plus I want to let the springs settle.

So just bought another Icelandic off Chris205 for £350, it's a far cry from its former glory but it was cheap enough.
Going to rob the manifold, GTI interior, calipers and front bumper for mine and break the rest before the shell goes to me mate for his plans.

New balljoints and poly bushes in some original Citroen wishbones. Should centre the wheels better than the cheap eBay numbers currently on.
Also have to put a new drive shaft on which is being done at the same time. I managed to split the boot on the one I put on 1000 me's ago. Could have just put a boot on but this is easier.

So slapped on the poly bushed wish bones and services the motor since it was due. Europarts had oil cheap so I though why not get it delivered from there.
Also slapped in the GTI leathers from the car I got to break, the bottom foam in the drivers seat had gone so u swapped it for one I had in a VTR seat I had lying about, now it's as good as new, very happy. Just need to retrim some door cards to match and happy days (sorry for the glare)
Car also came with a piper 4-1 manifold, would have preferred a 4-2-1 but it's there to use so why not.
Also came with 206 GTI calipers so in going to remove them and stick them on after I give them a clean and a bit paint. Also have braided lines and a bigger m/c to go on so should notice the difference.
Then swap bumpers, wing and it'll be back to her former glory.
Still not lowered but I'll get there.

Had a go at retriming some door cards, fabric I got was a close match to gti alcantara so I'm happy enough. They didn't turn out perfect, but not bad for a first attempt. I've got a load of material left so I'll pick up some more cards and have a second attempt.

Under where the door handle is there's a slight crease in the material. Just trial and error till I get it right.

Finally got round to putting the piper 4-1 I got with the donor car I bought.
Count myself lucky that non of the old studs sheared off as I was taking them off. Once they were out I replaced them with new studs.
Fitted the manifold
New gasket and bolts to the centre section
Buttoned it all up, replaced the centre and rear exhaust mounts with poly ones, started it up and no EML and job done (or so I thought). Went for a quick drive and there's a blow from somewhere, done a quick tissue test on the manifold and it's blowing. Nipped the top nuts up and no more blow from there, just have to wait till tomorrow when I get home from work and had a kip so I can get the bottom ones done as the manifold won't be red hot.

Nice! If theres another meet il have to let you have a quick go with the auto glym leather balm I got for the set I got from you! Feeds the leather and keeps them looking good for months!
Done a really good job on the door cards too, Ive always prefered the saxo ones to pug 106 ones

So, was going to spend a bit time cleaning up the engine bay and getting the rocker cover powder coated. However, a 03 VTS came up locally, no tax and mot, but engines been looked after and basically is a good runner so I'm going to drop the engine and do a 16v conversion.
I'm going to whip the head off and get it skimmed, new head gasket and a few other bits and pieces like oil seals etc.
When the R engine comes out I'll clean the engine bay up, good opportunity with the engine being out.

Needs too much doing to it, as the work I've done to my R it's easier just to swap engines over.
Should be able to recoup some money from the alloys, body kit, brakes etc.
The exhaust pissed me right off driving it home.
