Default Project kermit!! UPDATE 12/2/10 exhaust and trs spare wheel strap

thought i would start a progress thread as i never bothered with my last sax mainly because there was never a lot of progress lol. well anyways me and turbotom and few others took a road trip sunday and i parted with a few pennies and came home with a mk1 amazon green vts none runner but has tax and mot so thought it would be worth a shot bought the car suspecting it ws a cam belt fail investigated this a bit further and seems all is well cam belt side of things so not sure whats up but anyways the engines coming out this weekend for some investigation work!

while its out im gonna weld a few holes tom found for me lol and give the bay a quick paint the cars a bit roughe tbh but few new panels and it shouldnt look to bad i hope hopefully get few more pics up this weekend when the engines out

quick update tom ripped the engine out today for me as i was at wrk anyway checked the lump over flywheel was intact and so was ring gear so wasnt that side of things that went tits up got to the crank pulley bolt and it was finger tight not even slightly loose and there was a notch grooved out the aux belt which i assume is from where it must of locked up tightened the bolt and gave it a few turns it locked twice as if it was hitting a valve then for some reason it went free ???

so now im totally stumped im assuming the loose bolt has done damage and that was the problem so looks like the engines gonna have to get stripped down will get pics up as soon as me or tom get time

small update on this again i took the head of at start of the week and tbf the damage wasd worse than expected think 12 valves are bent and every piston is marked so ent gonna b worth rebuilding the engine like i planned to orignally which is bit annoying! but i have sourced another engine to go in just gotta pick it up after xmas took a few photos while i was at the garage showing the damage and how the car looks now. looks a rite mess if im honest lol

apologies for the crap photo quality
while ive been looking for the enigine ive collected few bits for the car aswell got a omp upper strut brace in anthracite and managed to get a decat off ebay for peanuts aswell so there a couple of items off the list.
just gotta decide what wheels im gonna get for it been offered some oz super turismos but im not too sure yet all ideas on the wheels welcome lol
