Default Saxo diesel timing belt

Hi, yesterday i replaced the timing belt kit on my saxo 1.5D, i aligned all the marks with pins. Now the engine will smoke abit white when cold but when it warms up abit its fine.after i installed everything i saw that the bosch pump is a tooth back because there was a barely visible white mark from previous timing bekt replacement someone made. For the car to run good now the vernier bolts on the pump need to be all the way to the right.

Glad you've sorted it

however, the timing is still incorrect. When you put the belt on, with the pump and cam locked. You loosen the 3 bolts on the pump and the cam, and rotate the pulleys clockwise fully, fit the belt and tension it, then nip up the 3 bolts on each pulley.

Yes thats what i did, i loosened the bolts on cam and pump vernier bolts. Turned them clockwise and while passing the belt on the pulleys i turned the pulleys slightly to engage the belt. Vernier bolts are in the centre on both cam and pump now, engine running very nice and starts instantly when cold
