Default Mounting top strut brace - how and what is this?

Hello guys
Im on my way to mount a strut bar top to my Saxo 8v VTR, but i am curious about what the adjustment screw is for, how much should I tighten it and how?

I have marked the screw here:

Some open ended spanners, just use your fingers till it gets tight then tighten the lock nut, if you go mad with it you may change your camber.
