Default Just cut car, now its snowing

I just cut the whole car with Megs #83 iirc. Cutting/ Polish compound.

Bought up the paint beautifully. I was going to add a layer of AGSRP on top to protect it, then megs speed glaze and some wax but its started snowing. When i come to continue tomorrow, will it be aright?

Half the bonnet has AGSRP and is beading pretty nicely. The other half (and rest of the car) has no SRR at all. Though its sort of beading.

tbh you have stripped all the protection off at the worst possible time. the salt on the roads is mad. but i don't know how much damage one night would do.

will you get the car done tomorrow if it carries on snowing?

I've got no choice. I just remembered, i've got a HUGE gazebo. Perhaps i can continue under there.

Oh yer, they car had NO protection when i bought it. It chould so easily be scratched and such a dull, matt finish. Never been washed since the guy bought it (he admitted when i bought it from him) now i've got a shine on it and can see my face lol

I'd had done that if i knew where dad's put it. Also just looked out the window and 1" of snow is laying all over it .... So i think will have to knock it on the head **FUCK!!!!!!*

I was using the polish to give it even more of a shine and just general more protection. Like i say, this pait was oxidised, dull, grubby and dirty. I was then going to apply megs glaze to it then finnish it off with some Turtle Wax, wax (only wax i have i'm afraid but left VERY VERY nice shine on my red Saxo and awsume for beading)

can I have the snow if you don't want it? lol

Well what you need is a paint cleaner (lime prime or the megs on) this will take the cloudiness out the paint. Polish will take away very light scratches but does not apply protection. Glaze does not have to be done but can add more depth to the shine. Apply a few coats of wax then red mist on top of that. should be spot on.

Failing that I'm sure someone around you is a keen detailer and could machine polish the car.

Your more then welcome to have it, collection only though!

I am using a Machine Polisher. Getting on with it quiet well. At first made my arm ache, but after 10 minutes i got it down to a tee. I need some more pads, the one's i've got are HUGE and i've shredded most of them on the edge of the body work

Its got a shine to the paint work, but nothing major. I've got some photo's ion my phone, but there not the best and cant upload them because i cant find the USB cable

You may want to use G3 if the car is that bad then. It would do a mint job. go onto Clean your car and get some smaller pads then. are you using a DA or rotary? how are you shredding them on the edge?

I'm using a Rotary

The pads i need are similar to this:

Any suggestions/ links on better, more durable pads?

I think i'm shredding them because the pad is catching the edge of the bonet, or the edge of the door. Thus making bits fly off.

I'm a bit confused about pads, backing plates etc etc.

Tbh mate i don't think one night without any protection is gonna make much difference to your paint.

There are hundreds and thousands of cars in this country that drive around for weeks/months/years with no polish/glaze/wax/sealant and they don't really have any issues.
The paint may be dull but provided it ain't stone chipped/scratched to bits a decent polishing session can bring most paint back to life/

Your car may not be protected this evening but its not like your gonna wake up and the panels have rusted off, as long as you give it a proper wash and dry you should be able to start where you left off.

Also forget the srp it adds zero protection, just crack on with teh speed glaze.
