Default Door Interior Light Switch

If I open the passenger door then the interior light comes on, however when i open the drivers door it doesnt so the obvious answer is that the small black switch inside the door has gone.

Just wondered is there anything I can do to fix it? Or is it a case of buying a new one?

I tried the switch from the other side which definetly works and had no luck so im guessing its the wiring.

How do I go about checking the wiring?

And also after I took the switch out the other side the connector fell inside the door and now i can't seem to get it out at all

Help!

Pleaseee does anyone know how I can retriev the passenger side connector? When I unplugged the switch the small black connector fell inside the hole and I just cant get to it at all.

I dont think its possible to get at the hole or the wire coz the fusebox/dashboard is in the way, i think theres a metal bracket covering the entry hole from inside the car right near the fusbox.

Please help somebody
