Default tu5j4 turbo

hello im new on here. I was wondering if anyone knows if you can use a standard TU5J4 head for a turbo conversion if not what work is needed? And is the TU5JP4 head a better option? TIA

You can use a standard J4 head and associated components. I have done so. Albeit, mine does need a rebuild, but it was knackered before.

The plastic inlet is good for near on 300bhp, as tested (IIRC) by Wayne at chipwizards. I'm still using it. Obviously you'd need a suitable MAP sensor. I originally had a ported throttle body, but reverted back to the standard.

The JP4 head had milder cams but bigger valves, but unless that is your only option, I wouldn't bother.
You've not said what spec' etc the build will be, so these are just my opinions.

Don't make the same mistake I did. Use a decent head gasket, ARP head bolts and at least have the head checked and stem seals replaced, before going for it. My own naivety means I will have to re-do the above, next year.

Thanks for the reply. Im looking at 330ish bhp. i have a re bored block with standard re-ground crank and ACL bearings. I also have K2 billet conrods and wiesco pistons and ARP head bolt set. I just want advice really on best options with the head as i want it to be as reliable as possible aswell. Thanks in advance
