Saxo cup/vts
So i bought a vts a for a street/track car. It was low mileage but it had some issues. The engine was pouring oil didn´t had the cap leash and a broken valve spring. But it had some 283mm calipers and b8 shocks.
So the engine spec now:
-Newman ph4
-stock internals
-Port and polish head
-catcam springs and retainers
-Ported stock TB
-55mm headers
-55 pipe no cat
-51mm PTS/ trophy muffler
-remap with 8500rpm limiter and hit it every time it hits the road lol
-4 new toyo t1r
-reinforced driveshafts
Now the new spec:
-t4 pistons
-conrods
-clio rs ported to 64mm TB
-clio rs injectors
-Coilpack conversion
-8mm HT cables
-oil cooler
-fuel regulator
-255 pump
- air/fuel ratio gauge
-catcams 812
-mecanichal lifters
-new clutch
-AA bar
-solid gearbox mount
-new gear links
with the firts engine i was able to hit 8000rpm in 5º gear in straight line.
I don´t know why but my mufflers only last about 1000klm lol
And a little clip

I would highly reccomend getting the standard FPR and fuel pump back on, adjustable fpr are a nightmare, and the 255lph pump is far too big.

i just bought the 255pump because i wanna for the itb route lol
it´s that bad? using ajustable fpr?
in Portugal we use that and the 255 pump, but we do everything diferent from what i´ve seen here lol newman ph4/bp300 etc with stock internals and we just use the stock ecu for everything.
I had a peugeot 106 gti with stock head, stock internal justa ph4 remap, filter and full exhaust without cat and it made 167hp to the crank.
But we dont have to deal with emissions and mot stuff lol we just pay for mot and case done

Costumo passar o fim de semana em Armação de Pera.
Sim em Portimão e lagos existem muitos saxos. E no Autódromo Internacional do Algarve também aparecem uns quantos

Yes, absolutely keep standard rods.
For one they don't break and I've seen far too many decent engines wrecked with crap Chinese rod and rod-bolt failures. (and NO, they are NOT REAL ARP bolts!!!!!! )
Our of interest, which ECU is on it?

thanks for the info. In Portugal nobody shares info about parts, it´s all secret, so we just have to trial and error everything.
My mechanic has this rods in his ax 16v and it´s running for 5years now and he beats the crap out of the car every single time.
I had no ideia that it came with crappy bolts.
In Portugal we just use the stock ecu (3plug in my saxo) and we have to deal with the crappy idle or lack of it lol
I think i need some guidence for the break in. My mec says 2000klm at slow pace and the ecu guy said 500klm at normal speed, so what´s the best way?
this saxo uses hyd lifters and stock ecu

C2R2 uses stock rods up to 8k rpm, granted they use a light piston and solid tappets.
with a hydraulic tappet you don't want to be going past 7500 too often.
if you use the stock ecu how do you get more fuel and appropriate ignition timing? they should still idle fine.
very often these rods will be ok, however if/when a problem occurs they more often than not grenade the whole engine, leaving you with a big pipe of expensive scrap, spend very little extra on good rods like Robson/Farndon/carillo etc and they come with genuine ARP or Carillo bolts, and when they do have a problem they will hold together for much longer.
the cheaper rods have an obvious inherent stress riser next to the bolt heads, plus quality control to be desired, or not as the case is.
