Prescott Hillclimb, 28th & 29th April
I got my MSA leaders hillclimb c'ship pack through today... Got some stickers to slap on the 106.
Also got final instructions for Prescott hillclimb through, this is the 1st round of the 2012 British & Leaders hillclimb c'ship.
Only 3 of us in the class, a funky 2.0 205 & a 2.1 impreza turbo (amalgamated classes) and me in my little 1598cc 106.
Wish me luck and prey my box doesn't go bang again.

Is he from your way? If he competes in the midland championship I'll probably have seen it at some point.

Hell no! He's from Kidderminster... only 434 miles from "my way".
Ralph is entered in the Midland.

I know Ralph, he broke his neck or back a while back by rolling his car..
He has the 'yellow peril' If I'm correct?

Correct!
It was after rolling his car... apparently he was upside down and then released his harness.

I didn't know the specifics, I had a good chat to him a couple of years ago.. The car is indeed VERY fast. He's using a 300hp+ XU engine according to him a while back. His spec could of changed since I'm not sure.
He always runs on slicks though Dave.. So does this mean you will be using proper slicks this time round?

Its the modified class, slicks are the tyre of choice. I'm sure his car is a rocket!
I'm only learning the hill so dont expect any miracles from me.
My tyres.
I'll see what the weather is like, i have ACB10's if its raining... or if its not raining that hard i'll just use the slicks.

Yes, we spin the tyres in a designated area before the start line. Hillclimb slicks are very soft.

Minor progress, got ma bumper back...without a splitter.
& relocated the rear tow strap.
Wiring loom should be fitted tomorrow night and all being well i'll be getting some mapping done on wed or thurs night and then heading to Prescott early on Fri morning.
This is why i aint getting my splitter made this week...
Graeme has to build this car into a new tub by thursday.

Fun times at Prescott, class win in torrential rain.
I'm up in Cumbria now, only a few hundred miles to go till I'm home...
Times can go found here.
