Wicked Red Vts
Hi guys. I bought my Wicked Red Vts around a month ago. I drove it for two days and then pulled it off the road for some tidying underneath as I noticed surface rust in various areas and wanted to catch it all before it became serious.
One thing lead to another and I ended up completely striping the underside at the rear, including the fuel tank, rear axle, heat shields etc.
I will post pictures of the progress. I am actually over the worst of it now and it will all start to go back together soon.
There were only a few bits of welding it needed; one on the inner wing in the usual place on either side, a bit around the towing eye area, and a bit on the sill. Other than that it was very solid, I felt relieved after seeing some horrors online.

Slow but steady progress over the last week. Managed to change the cambelt and reseal the cam covers.
I've built up the front suspension on one side, along with some 266mm brakes and a gti6 master cylinder. Looking forward to trying the brakes when it's one the road again, they should be MUCH improved, as the discs that were on it all round were badly scored and corroded.

Well, slowly but surely the Saxo is going back together.
Fuel tank is back in now, and today the bodykit and bumpers came back from the bodyshop after being sent for colour coding. Really pleased with how it's coming along now.
Just need to get the rear axle back on, connect and bleed the brakes and fit the exhaust system, then it should be pretty much good to go for some fun on the roads :-)
