The intercooler is a toyosports one I've ran them on few turbo cars I've owned and never had any issues the proof will be on mapping day as to what kind of results it produces like I said I'm not chasing numbers or looking for huge power just a fun useable car is what I'm aiming for

The only issue I see with the intercooler is what affect it will have on the airflow to the main radiator. It may not be the finest design if it's a Chinese crap one off flea-bay, going with an OE 'cooler off something else isn't usually a bad idea because they tend to be quite efficient.
Was 8psi, dropped to 6.
Turbo is on my garage floor now and is mint. Looking to resell it shortly tbf.

Manually adjusted the boost back up, but couldn't get it right, it would spike badly above 8 after the increased lag and then it would cut, everyone would hit the windscreen!

It was you who mapped it Wayne, is there overboost/cut protection or something that cuts the spark?

Reverted all back to the twin pass in the end. Anyway, it was just a series of comments trying to protect from disappointment, but the OP knows what he is doing, so hopefully it was a one off or something.

From memory it ran about 0.55-0.6 bar. I think the pressure axis on the maps went up to 1650mbar (absolute), so 0.65 bar gauge. I can have a look when I get five, as if I ever get five...
It was an experimental thing from memory.

no point, as you'll be mapping it again anyway (anywayne).

Back to the thread....

It looked nice and shiny like Craig's as well.
The pipe run on them is twice the length of a small twin pass too. Its not got the lungs for it.

Takes away the responsiveness/n.a feel of the 17 but I hope not the same for this. Fingers crossed.

sorry you are wrong
first kits we made were a twin pass due easy of plumbing --no problem at all till we tried to get stupid power -- then the twin pass did cause a restriction -solution make same core single pass --problem went away .
a big core will not cause pressure drop as the air can flow easy through it .with twin pass you basically have a very thin cooler twice as long --thats where the restriction comes from -,but we only had a problem once we were trying to run 300+bhp through the twin pass +with a s/c --so no possiblity of boost being raised by waste gate control like a turbo --what you got with s/c is what you got .
quite sure if it had been turbo would never have noticed it as quick ,as long as the turbo had more pressure to give -
-but no, by choice presuming no fitment issues -single pass and good core

never had an engine cooling prob caused by intercooler blocking rad due to low temps of the s/c compared to turbo, and of course we change the rad as well
only engine temp problems have been internal -basically due to limits of the block when going stupid power
not enough cooling between cylinders -but thats at 400ish continuos power --

Unfortunately there were 2 other chaps in attendance to verify my evidence. Including one who runs a 250bhp turbo rallye with a twin pass also mapped by Wayne.

Well that turned into quite a debate about Intercooler's lol I ran the intercooler in place for a week to see if the temp was affected but all is fine doesn't seem to effect the rad at all it might run warmer when the turbo is on but will just wait and see

Got all this today

Oil and standard filter and a r5 turbo small oil filter , new thermostat , gates cambelt kit and water pump headgasket set with head bolts , coolant and thanks for a heads up from noirsette bm baker had a offer on their short shift kit and gear linkages so purchased that aswell.

Will be getting the headwork done in a couple of weeks and gonna get the clutch ordered and fitted should all be pretty much ready to make a start then

Thanks for looking
