I dont think an S1 box would be practical at all for myself Toad mate. Think it
would seriously piss me off on the motorway, cant stand the noise of the exhaust
as it is.

I like the idea of having a refurbish and strengthened box, so could get the S2
box and tidy it up. Then just sell the GTi box on Egay.

Will have to see, something to do once the cams are sorted.

I'm not in hurry to get a cage. They're expensive! But it's something that I would really like to get eventually. I need to get engine management stuff sorted first.

id recommend a cage asap when running buckets tbh.

OK Rushy... I think you need to drive one before you make your mind up completely. It's not a massive difference on the motorway, I'll try to explain. Before, if I was sitting at 70mph, I would be at about 3400 rpm in 5th IIRC. Now, if I'm doing 70mph, it's at 4000 rpm. That's not major if you know what I mean...?

depends on your budget mate.

SD cages are the premium ones. if not OMP do cheaper ones that need painting.

box sections need welding in for both.

fuel economy will drasitically drop on an s1 box!! i dont care as they way my car will accelerate ill have time to stop for petrol more often and still get to places faster than most

Hi mate, love the car! really nice. Im very close to buying a set of turini's in 15inch but i would like to see a picture of your car from a distance if thats ok? wouldent mind seeing how big/small the wheels look from a distance.

turninis were made before renault used them on the 172, before then the clio had oz f1 cups fitted

Toad - for cages i think rowlands race rally do the omp cages, and irc theyre cheaper then YB fuck ups.

if you must order an omp one from 106racing/yb etc.... make sure you allow a few months for the fuck ups that will usually happen

Safetey devices are available from abp motorsport irc. ill check on the rallye reg for you, supply 106 cup cages.

omp - search on ebay, YB racing/106parts/strutbracer etc... do the omp stuff, they say they have stock but never do, its all order dircet from italy.
