I just thought... With the sliders on the front windows, they can be opened from the outside. So anyone could... !!! OMG.

Saying that, it would probably be easier to smash the glass window than melt a poly one. But the fact that the sliders are there, makes me wonder. If the car is locked, will pulling the handle from the inside unlock it?
At the end of the day, it doesn't really make any odds I suppose. As long as I don't leave the stereo in the car, there's nothing for anyone to gain by reaching an arm inside through the window.
EDIT: The motion sensor would set the alarm off anyway, if some chump tried to wave his greasy hand about inside...

I haven't updated for a while, so here's a little taster.
As some of you may already be aware, I had some nasty trouble with the cam belt. Please see this thread for details: http://www.saxperience.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=106222
The good news is that it's all sorted now. I got a new cambelt fitted yesterday, and the garage managed to retain my cam timing. They charged me £50 for the belt, and £130 labour. I paid cash, so no VAT, which was a good total of £180.
The dodgy screw was indeed from the side of the cam cover that is attached to the engine block. A little loctite has sorted that little git out.
Keep an eye on this thread for more updates soon. I will be putting the poly windows in shortly, white mud flaps, and a white fibreglass bonnet! (bonnet due to arrive early next week.

I watched it too, and had a feeling some folk might be thinking that! LOL. No damage at all mate, glad I found it before it snapped! Also, it turns out that the screw may have been a blessing in disguise, as I found a tear in the belt! and I doubt it was the result of the screw! Yikes... I'm one lucky, lucky mo fo'ing Toad.
Thanks Dogg. I'm looking forward to getting all the bits sorted. There's a place just next to me called Motorworx, and they do all sorts of engine / tuning malarky... Anyway, they have a machine that they use for reading the corner weights on cars, so I'll jump on that after all the bits are on, and see what the totat weight is. Should be pretty light!
The bonnet comes in white... I will check out the surface condition and probably got to work on it, making it smoother, and also a nice coat of paint, and also some laquer!

The poly windows are in finally!
The car is a bit of a mess, inside and out, so after i get all that sorted, and also the fibreglass bonnet fitted (tomorrow) I'll get some pics taken.

Sorry Ben, I missed your post there mate.
OK, firstly, this update has no pics. Sorry chaps, but I really want to put the pics on hold until 1) I get the car properly nice and clean and 2) I get the fibreglass bonnet installed. However, problems on that last one.
I thought I would do this post now, as to warn anyone who wants to buy something from a company called Jam Motorsport. Don't confuse them with Jam Sport, as that's a different company. In a nutshell, I paid for the bonnet over 1 month ago now, and still haven't received it. When it didn't arrive at first, I contacted them, and they said that it had been sent back to them as nobody was at the delivery address to receive the item. They said they would sent it again. 1 week passes, still no bonnet. I call them back up, this time they tell me they forgot to post it, and they will do straight away. Another week passes, this time they tell me they forgot again, and they will post it straight away. Another week passes, and this time they tell me a member of staff has left, and this member had the TNT courier account in his name, so they have had to start a new one, and the bonnet will definately be posted Thursday to arrive Friday morning. It's now Saturday obviously and no bonnet. So I will be going to my CC company on Monday, and reporting them. They'll soon get a shock when they contact them with a letter. Bastards...
On a brighter note, the windows have been in a few weeks now, and they are really good. I had to seal the fronts myself, as when I took the electric window mechanisms out, the windows fell down! When I asked the folks who did the work about this, they said that they didn't seal the fronts, as they thought they could just rest them on the original window mechanisms... Doughnuts... So, some silicone sealing went on, and they're tip top once again. One thing I'm not all that impressed with is the surface of the windows. I had to give them a clean the other day, so I used a soft duster and some clear windolene, and even with the soft duster, you could see it ever so slightly putting thousands of scratches on the surface...
Some other good news, and that's the rear axle is tip tip once again! Woohoo. When I was last at Steve Hill Motorsport, they noticed both rear wheels had play in them. Looks like the reason I had to keep hammering in the end plates was because of the play loosening it up, constantly! The good news being that the axle was fine, and new bearings solved everything. So £300 later, there's not a single clanks coming from the car now. Amazing. lol
