Automatic Lock system

Right, Here's a suggestion I would throw out for everyone.

I post on a very popular forum called The Sunderland Message Board:

It's part of the Sunderland AFC Fanzine "A Love Supreme"
It's probably been going longer than Saxperience.

Anyway, they have a very good system I think Saxperience should trial.

A lot of people, myself including have becoming frustrated by people who blatently bump threads over 2 years etc, can clearly tell some people do it for kicks and to get a rise.

Well the SMB has a system where it automatically locks inactive threads over 6 months old, or threads over 1 year.

I think this would be a good idea.
What do people think?

I think however there could be exception area's,
Don't impliment this into:
- Your Saxo's Photo's Video Section
- Any area that has guides to help with your car.

So area's like General Chat, well maybe just General Chat for now.

People are encouraged to search for threads. When they search for threads, they are likely to find old threads. So they post in them. Then they get slated by people for bumping threads

i dont think it will work because of what viper is saying. sometimes it is relevent to bump old threads if you have a query

Same as above, sometimes it is relevent. Maybe threads from back in 2002,2003 etc that really are just Simo, Scott and some randomers having convos XD

I don't you can justify bumping a 2 year old thread in General Chat!
