sort the howto section out

i paid the subscription for access to the howto section, thinking i would find a load of locked threads containing information on how to do things.

At the moment the whole area seems to just have people asking questions about how to do things. surely this is what the technical forums are for?

why not have the section split in two: one section with locked threads actually showing you how to do something. This would encourage people who write howto threads to make them of the highest quality for consideration into the library.

secondly just have a section where people can post requests and howto guides as there is now, but the decent threads which actually show you how to do something get moved by mods to the locked section.

this way when you go in looking for something, you can sort the wheat from the chaff.

is that a no then? bit much for people paying good money to finally open the premium section to find its just a potmess of posts and photos imo.

PREMIUM HOW TO GUIDES

You will notice on the forum it is called "Premium Member 'How-To' Discussion"

Where people will discuss how to do things, not make guides, but guides can also be made and then saved.

TO make things clear... the premium how-to discussion forum is to do just that.. discuss guides.

When guides are created with sufficient content they DO get moved. The Premium how-to guide section that has existed for some time has been half-removed, and is being replaced with a new articles section.

Click the articles tab to see this section under construction.

A content contributor group has been established so that anyone can contribute guides/content to the community. People should focus on developing content, then everyone will benefit.

The guides are progressing well, but unfortunately it takes time. If more people were prepared to help out, the time taken would be less

Thanks for the post mate, just was a bit miffed as not many forums encourage to pay in order to open up content, and i would have thought there was more.

Look forward to the new stuff, happy to donate some time to web development / uploads / hosting too. (Computer science graduate)
