Awards Entitlement
Was brought to my attention that i am currently the most active member of this site and was suggested that upon winning an award like this or others that you have a different coloured name or perhaps given a small medal under your name for others to see when you post....
IMO i think this is a good idea as i am not trying to be an ASW but it would be good to be recognised for my inputs and efforts to keep this succesful site on the uprise, as i am sure other would too
Opinions Please....

Its a good idea, I can't see any reason why people would think it's a bad idea.
Something similar to icons that appear for the arcade highscores like mine (just under my itrader score) would be good.

I had most active not long back. Im only online in the evening lol.
Wouldnt this be the only award that would change though? Looking at the others, they would take a lot to catch and overtake tbh ie most thanked

Not really, just be curtious to people and you may get there.
As stated to me earlier today, there are around 15,000 members still use this site and not everyone is gonna be way up there at 100%.
Neither will they stay there, but to have a permanent indication that at least one time or another you were and have been awarded for it would seem like a slight accomplishment

As much as I like the idea and agree Drew, I think it'll just give the n00bs something else to try and help their e-penis by spamming etc.

i would have to agree with this tbh
we dont need any more reasons for people on here to fall out as someone who posts more ect gets an award
iirc they used to and it was removed for this very reason

the way activity is worked out is based on your comparison to the "top 10 most active members"
so it always changes now, your in the top10, but someone could easily overtake you, not award worthy.
at least, im sure thats how it works from when VBexperience was started
either way. getting an award for spending the most time sitting inside on your computer isnt exactly something to brag about...

Don't really think an award is needed for something's,
a change of colour would mean more threads of "how do I get my name a different colour"
A thread saying well done drew is enough i think

The activity award doesnt even mean you are contirbuting to the forum, you could just be posting crap everywhere

The most active member varies week to week. I used to be at the top for a while.
A lot of people have had 100% and not all of them can have a medal, it doesnt even mean your posting, just that your signed in.
And people would just post crap to get most active poster etc etc
And "most appreciative" people would just thank posts for nothing, it would just end up in a mess tbh

exactly my thoughts...
If awards, as such are introduced, then a mass swarm of spammers would be released to try to achieve the such award. Which isn't good for the moderators, or Simo's bandwidth.
