Hose on one end, turn on tap, flush water through system.

5 ltrs of boiling water and 2 tablets of calgon , drain the system then re fill the system with the calgon and water mix with the thermostat removed using the header tank method, leave for 30 mins then drain again and look at the sludge. Flush with hose then refit stat, fill and bleed as normal.

Did this with my type r today, so much shit in the coolant system you wouldn't believe.
