Posting in wrong section
I think the reason why this site works so well is the layout, everything is clutter free and easy to find, unlike other sites.
Yeah noobs will always post in the wrong section, which if they had read the rules, they still may do.
But nevertheless it still annoys the crap out of me, especially when other people do it too.
I feel Mods should clamp down on them, giving a warning out for posting in the wrong section and then 2 warnings become an infraction, and so on.
Tell me if im just being petty, just really gets on my tits

Even if you give out a warning, theyre still going to do it once. Usually noobs only post once then they do use correct sections.
Forum Bullying would be much more effective if we could get that organised.

Errm its usually new people, so I think the embarassment of getting it moved and half the site taking the piss usually does the trick and stops them doing it.

i often inform people when they seem to think general chat means 'to lazy to post it in the right section'
its not just noobs who do it, alot of older members do with excuses like 'but i get more views here'

it can also be a genuine mistake though?
like the one i did yest in the for sale bit.
i had two tabs open... i thought i was in the ice section, made my thread, boom, in the wrong section. grrr.
genuine mistake....? would i still get a warning for that?
surely it needs to be a common occurence with one user before serious warnings are handed out?
it's just as bad for text language? yet alot of people use that without any warnings?
just my thoughts.

Lets be honest we have all made a mistake and put a thread in the wrong section....it happens. Most of the time people will PM a mod and we will move it no problems.
Its the repeat offenders who should be punished......the people who do it on purpose just so their thread gets viewed by more people.
I personally do hand out warnings / infractions to these repeat offenders and im sure im not the only moderator to do so.
Or am I??? Lol

Nothing to stop you reporting the mistake/editing the thread to say so.

wouldnt an option to move your own thread yourself once be considerable? Or would that just cause more problems.

We can't be everywhere all of the time and occasionally don't see things as quick as other members do so you could actually help us out and report the thread and it will be dealt with accordingly

It would still happen no matter what you do.
Its the repeat offender that are the problem, and how many of them are there?
Thing that does annoy me though is noobs posting the same thread in everysection. The forum aint that big.

Don't think it will stop, just ignorance, doesn't bother me too much, and it's not too hard for me to mention there is a section for their thread. Not that I do it much, but I'm not tired of mentioning it yet.
