Round 1 UK Time Attack
Cadwell Park May 1st 2017
HOME TURF!!!
We arrived at Cadwell a day early to pop up the tent, sign on and to get through scruitineering.
Armed with a brand new set of Trofeo tyres gifted from Kingsway tyres we head out for session 1...
Session 1 Warm up
This year we are in club 2wd. FWD vs RWD Club class.
The circuit is completely wet for this session. On new tyres and brakes I literally potter around with a best lap time of 2:13 lol.
Its worth a note that our best lap time last year was 1:39.486...
Session 2 Practice
On a fully dry Cadwell I head out with the guys in club... Boy they are quick, straight away everyone appears to be going full steam
Once I feel the car is up to temp, I flick on the lights and have a go at a fairly warm lap...
I find a 1:40.620 not too shabby but 4th in class for the session.
Lunchtime...
I find myself chatting to competitors...
Also the boys from Kamracing came over to say hi. Always nice to have a chat with Kev, Jon and Graeme
Session 3 Qualifying
In Time Attack you score points in Qually if your in the top 5. 1st taking 5 points and a point less for every position behind.
Fuelled up and ready to attack I cant wait to get out of the pit lane...
Struggle a little being desperate and driving out of my ability, scruffy driving...
At the end of the session I calmed down a little and produced a lap time quicker than last year by 0:00.080, a lap of 1:39.416
And a 3rd in Club 2WD
Session 4 Final
Getting in the car full of excitement
Warmed up and pushing the car harder than ever, really enjoying the new power (290bhp).
Air....
followed by a blinding... 1:38.584 enough for a 3rd in finals!

A lot of people have asked me if I'm happy with a 3rd.
Hell yes!!!
Club is tough, Cadwell is most likely to be my best result. The lap time a second faster than my PB last year proves we are moving forward and that's what its about.
There is no way I would be here this year without Alive Tuning. Alive spent so many working ours on my own car I simply couldn't get ready for 2017 due to some complicated set backs that have been out of my control... Without my sponsors I would never have such a competitive car. I have always been grateful of my sponsors and appreciate their time and contributions... My partner and my friends, without you I would of not completed the car this year and even now I don't think the car would be ready, never mind competitive. Thank you to everyone that's helped including SaxPs forum and members for keeping me enthused...Thank you.
So what if I had stayed in Pocket Rocket????
That would of been a class win, Qually and finals
I wonder if the eagle eye spotted the new front skirt?
