Default "Instant Shine" Products?

What do we all reckon to these instant shine products then? E.g. Showroom Shine, Demon Shine, Mantis, etc...

I'd never dare use them straight on but can they produce a good finish on a freshly jet washed car?

I'm not big cleaning cars, so the cleaner I can get it to look for little effort the better!

A few good products out there but they still rely on the car being clean in the first place

They're all short term fixes that look ok for a day or two then go poop again.

Take a long time doing a decent job on the car first time round and it'll make your life 10x easier in future.

Well I've just had my car cleaned properly (by someone else!), he washed it, clayed it then waxed it. Its got a really good feel to it and am just wondering if the aforementioned products would be alright to keep "topping up" the finish?

I'm trying to start a debate on different products to be honest.

I've just bought some "Astonish - Instant Shine", it was only £1 for a 750ml bottle so thought I'd give it a go.

I'll let you know the results tomorrow.

Personally i have used mantis but only on occasion as i prefer to clean the car properly and polish it twice to keep the paint nice. I have never encountered any problems with mantis, i does leave quite a nice smooth finish

I currently have mer quick detailer or whatever its called. Seems pretty good and my paintwork is in shocking condition atm. But still the water beads nicely. Zymol and Zaino are supposed to be good for detailers.

Why people polish once a week always makes me chuckle, simply a waste of time and effort and certainly no need.

Sounds like you just need a quick detailer to be honest.

I've used Chemical Guys - Speed Wipe, which is fairly good but for an off the shelf product I think you would be hard to beat Autoglym - Rapid Detailer although the megs quick detailer may give it some competition.

I really like Autosmart - AuqaWax...

You fill up quater of a bottle and rest is water....

Spray onto a dry car.. Use a dry microfibre cloth.. and just wipe off... comes up amazing for what it is..

Or as you are washing the car.. just after shampoo,, spray around the car then rinse.. I do this with customers cars... really good tbh.

Aslong as the car's clean you can use a quick detailer, i use the Meguiers one and it's not let me down, lasts ages too, used it first for Fast show 2011 in March and i've still got about a qurter of the bottle left, lasts quite a while and gives a nice shine with a lovely smooth feel too.

Instant shine basically means quick shine, doesn't last long and will fade after a few , a deep shine is what takes longer but looks better and lasts longer, basically a bit of elbow grease won't hurt
