I'm not changing the bottom end. I won't be spending any more money on the engine after I go with the iTBs and engine managment. It just gets too costly after that.

Yes, it will make a diffrence having the iTBs done. There's mucho benifitio mate. As long as you can get a good source of cold air to them, you're on to a winner. I've got the added advantage of having a fairly tweaked cylider head, which will reap me benifits once the iTbs go on.

The iTBs compared to the stock inlet (This is considering your running 708s) will allow you to have a good idle. At the moment, my idle is shocking, but that's probably because I've tweaked the exhaust cam timing for more power, at a loss of idle. This won't be an issue with the iTBs, as you can alter the amount of air / fuel mixture which goes into each cylinder, effectively reducing the lumpyness of the idle, and also allowing for fine tuning to unlock more power.

You will also get better throttle responce with the iTBs, and you will make the car more driveable. Power delivery will be smoother, and you will have a better all round drive.

just had a reply from emerald which was

Hi Sam,
If you are handy with a soldering iron you should be able to change the loom-plug. We give you a manual & wiring diagram with the ECU so it's mostly common sense following the wires and matching up your sensors etc. with the pinouts. If you know any competent auto electricians it's something they could very easily do.
Take a look at the wiring diagram in the manual starting on page 55.

For someone to do it for you, you can speak to Craig Taylor on this number 01217530415 - he'll put you in touch with a local chap who does his Emerald wiring. Craig is a customer of ours and has been using our systems for a long time.
best regards
Leoni

Cool, interesting mail. It's all about finding the right person with the experience of doing them for our cars. It will be a doddle for them...

You should get the headwork done, but you don't have to. I would do it...

QEP will supply me with EVERYTHING required for the iTB setup for £2k after VAT. This includes KMS ECU, KMS wideband lambda display, all the loom, sensors, etc, etc. GMC will then do all the rest of the work for £1K: Installation, wiring and mapping.

OK, but you will lose out on the mapping cost. Still, I'm glad you are chosing standalone as opposed to re-map. Good lad.

That's another point... You have NO control over your engine management whatsoever. Once you have a standalone, you can do everything yourself. Get a laptop and the required software, then you can hire a RR for an hour or 2 and do your own tweaking.

As toad said, with a laptop for mapping. You would have a base map. From that you could then play on a rolling road to remap it. If you are not happy with results after mapping you just reload the base map and then start agian. Software is free down load from internet ie map 3000 ect. All you need is athe leed from laptop to ecu which agian is available from the internet or ebay.
