The iP4 is clearly better hardware and as app's develop, they will run like a bag of crap on the 3G running OS4, as the processor will lag. Ive found that running some of the newer apps already.
I've got an iP4 arriving tomorrow and another next week hopefully. I compared my 3G to the iP4 in store today and was surprised how much slimmer the new phone is. Bad point though... the new handset feels to angular/square in your hand. Its not as ergonomic as the 3G/3GS, but maybe thats something to get used to

only reason im not going into another contract is that im on O2 simplicity at the moment. 600 minutes unlimited texts and unlimited internet. £20 a month. dont really want swap from that to a more expensive iPhone tariff.
I'm waiting for the white ones then buying direct from Apple
whats your voda contract?

Thats what I was planning to do Tom, buy from apple, let me voda contract run out then switch to the voda version of O2's simplicity. It only worked out at like £90 cheaper all-in over 18months, but it gives you an unlocked phone.
When they cancelled my contract, I couldnt resist the upgrade, as Id already shelled out a bundle on the first handset.
I went for a £35/month tariff. 600mins, 3000 texts, 1Gb data, 1Gb Wifi.
Everyone seems to be whining abut the capped data tariffs, but in the 18months Ive had my 3G Ive not even used 3Gb in total from the voda data stream. Im on wifi most places I use, so 1Gb per month is pretty much unlimited anyway for me.
My old tariff was better, but also cost £5 per month more than Ive just upgraded to. Was also considering waiting for the white, but I did that with my current one. I fancy a change - the black one

one advantage with waiting for white is all these problems with early handsets might be solved!
unlimited data is funny actually, because they all have fair usage policies, which im fairly sure is around 1gb anyway. I reckon they might have been forced to change 'unlimited' because it really isnt.
As you said though 1gb is a pretty high cpa anyway so its all good
One thing I dont get with your contract.. how can they limit wifi usage or is it limited from Voda hotspots

Its BT Openzone stuff... similar to O2 giving you it free for 12 months.
All non-BT/cloud wifi is obviously not capped.

I was a little reluctant to upgrade to the 4.0 software on my 3GS, as people I knew that had done it had all sorts of problems.
In the end.. I stopped being such a poofe and installed it; it has some excellent new features.
Still not sure why they boast a 5x digital zoom, though.

Im with o2.
Had to activate mine online because the number i upgraded isnt the number im using in the phone, so they gave me an extra micro sim to use with my number.
I had a text to confirm they were processing the swap and that it could take 24 hours...27hours on...still nothing!!
