Default FIA racewear

Right thinking of doing motorsport (after pricing up everything i need)

I know you have to have FIA approved racewear such as:
- race suit
- race boots
- gloves
- helmet

but i just wondered if you HAD to have nomex underwear (t-shirt, bottoms ect) when racing.

should be getting my go racing starter package soon and i guess it will say it all in there but just thought it would be good to post here first.

also race helmets - what specification do they have to be at to be able to be fit for racing as many are snell and FIA but have different numbers. anyone enlighten me?

thanks guys

Which motorsport were you thinking of doing?

Speed events dont require fireproof undies...

Stuff doesn't need to be FIA approved unless you do international events.

What i use for speed events...

i would invest in a pair of nomex socks as every bloke i talk to on track days swear by them after all if your feet get burnt makes your whole body pretty much useless. i know most fia boots have a nomex lining but they leave your shins with no protection.

One benefit is they are very comfortable under the racesuit as they are cut for the job in hand.
