Laser alignment what why how?
Was just wondering what a 'fast road' or 'Nurburgring spec' geo setup on a saxo would be?? Obviously its just the front wheels that are done but what are the numbers preferred for a track car?
I've never really understood the whole toe in/toe out, camber, castor etc

The only adjustable on Saxos is toe (unless you've got adjustable top mounts, in which case, camber too), and since there's not a great deal of adjustment, most people just go with book settings AFAIK, maybe the slightest bit of toe out for turn in.
Cause there's not much adjustment, there doesn't seem to be any 'common' settings.

Also you don't need lasers. The guy who sets my car up for me uses string, axle stands and a ruler/camber gauge.

Huntermachines used by people who understand them are the best imo.
Not a saxo but i have mine set to M3 lowered, then choose neg3 camber all around.
Surly theyres a fastroad, track day set up as a rule of thumb on here somwhere?
As for the 'Ring i just soften everything very slightly as its a shit surface in most places!

I found it to be quite nice! But then i do live in Southend which is basically off road everywhere you go in terms of road surfaces at the moment!!!

We use the lasers at college and I find the string so much easier to use.

The book setting for the front toe of a sax (according to the data-sheet i got printed) is 2mm toe out +/- 1mm at standard height.
If you're lowered at all then the increase in camber with this toe out could run you the risk of chewing the inner edges of the tyre prematurely, so I run my -40mm sax at 1mm out to try and keep the wear more central on the road.
For track driving it's often personal preference. More out can improve braking into the corner by reducing the slip angle of the laden/outer tyre and improve turn in though it can be detrimental through the middle of the corner as this reduction in slip angle on the laden wheel reduces your available cornering force at that tyre.
When I come to do Doni/Oulton in the summer I'll start on my road setting then have a play going further out from there.
We ran the MINI-S with up to 3mm out at times to try and get it pointing into the corners better, though the MINI also had adjustable rear angles and a Quaife diff so it's all relative to the vehicle.
