Lets have a chat about it if you decide to get rid. I don't even know if I want it of course but we should at least meet up or something and compare - even if it's just so you can hear mine to decide that's enough lol

That surprises me, I thought you were one to stay on the right side of the law.
Had any trouble with it?
I imagine with your car actually being a German car it's less obvious.

The only issues I had was in Germany actually. Like a mong I didn't know about the German laws (the number plate is a legal document there and fucking about with one is fraud). My first trip with these plates and I had the full stickers on and everything. Got stopped (luckily by a friendly marshal at the 'ring who explained the law) and promptly removed the stickers, and covered up the D.
In the UK I've had no problems at all, but I'm growing a little tired of them already so may actually go back to stock British plates anyway.
As for staying legal - I try to for anything "serious". I'd always declare mods etc, but decats and numberplates? Yeah. Whatever. Popo will just give a fine for the number plates and I can live with that if it were to happen.

Am I right in saying that you can actually get legal pressed plates even though they do not look as good as the ones you are rocking?

Just get the naughty ones man!
If you don't have a private plate it's even better as you stand no risk of losing it
Not that anyone ever does!

This. you can get supposedly legal plates but really who cares.
I've never heard of a single case of someone losing their private registration because of the font or typ of plate they put on the car. The only time you'll lose a registration is if you space it like a spakka, and then really only to spell something offensive etc.

End of the day, if your plate is illegal.. You get a £60 fine, if any fine at all.. Most of the time they will just give you a thing to get it changed! Just say "my dad bought me them for my birthday, so i assumed they were fine, and say how sorry you are.. They'll most likely let you off and tell you to sort it

RS6 is shit on track. Yes I want one (and have been to see two now) because with 700hp and 1000nm of torque they're no slouch, but at the 'ring I'd get decimated.
I'm enjoying the B7 RS4 - argued to be the best RS model Audi have ever made.

Haha I was just messing with you it's a lovely car! I wish I could afford either tbh.
I was thinking about buying a older Rs6 a couple of month back but figured it'd cost way too much to keep on the road. Plus the seller was too keen to sell me it and keep dropping the price. Figured there was something about to go wrong with it that would have bankrupted me haha

no it's cool. Several people have asked why I don't get a 6 - and I will. When I'm tired of the 4 lol. It's just a fucking barge that's all. Goes like shit off a shovel but ... well, I'm not that old yet

I've been pulled for the plate on the bike but they have only said get it changed. Never had, can't be arsed. My brothers had 2 slip things that you need to get stamped from a garage. Changed the plate back as soon as its been stamped tho haha

Just a fortune to run. What mpg do you get... like 15? haha road tax is a nightmare too as well as fixing stuff. I heard to get new brakes all around was something daft like £3k?
My insurance wouldn't have been too bad only a couple of hundred more than the clio

Tax is the same on the 4 as the 6 - £500 a year. £200 more than my insurance - for a car that does 4k miles a year. Go figure.
Brakes again are the same price on the 6 as the 4 - circa £2k for a full set of discs and pads fitted.
MPG wise the 6 is worse (obviously!) - on my last nurburgring trip in the 4, from dover to the ring and back to dover I averaged 14.6mpg. On a run I can get it up to about 22mpg if I drive sensibly. Average day to day is about 18mpg which is fine. From what I read on the forums average in the 6 is about 15mpg which is fine. Same as my old range rover.
But yes - you'll need tardis sized pockets to fix anything. Oil cooler replacement (common) - £1500. two DRC shocks and collector fail, that'll be £3k. Tyres are £800 a set, brakes as you said £2k.
They're both great cars but not cheap to run
