Cheapest place for Windows 7?
Anyone?
Do i bother with Ultimate over Home premium? I dont honestly feel like the features would benefit me much but i always like to have extras just incase

Just make sure whichever version you buy comes with the latest media centre, it's fucking awesome.
I believe the 'N' versions are usually cheaper as they don't have media centre/media player.

Would need to be legit? Not sure i can be bothered with the looming threat of being locked out one day or not able to update properly etc...
Home premium looks like the answer so far?

don't have to be a student it just asks where you study i put manchester used my hotmail email. it's an upgrade version but you can do a clean install with it with various workarounds. i'll find the link then post it. also if you already have xp you can just upgrade.

i used them couldnt fault them disk came within 5 days.
i just installed win 7 on a new partition.
link about upgrade install
i had xp so had to upgrade outside of windows anyway.
Running Windows Vista?
If you have Windows Vista, you can purchase Windows 7 Upgrade versions. You can do a clean install (back up your files, clean install, and reinstall your applications) or an in-place upgrade (Windows 7 installs over Windows Vista).
If you have Windows XP, you can purchase Windows 7 Upgrade versions. But you must back up your files, clean install, and reinstall your applications.
If you’re running Windows 2000, you’ll need to purchase the full product and do a clean install.
it will check you have a version of windows (xp/vista) your entitled to upgrade from then you can clean install or inplace upgrade.
some people to get round the upgrade only if they don't have a previous version of windows install this then don't enter a license key then once windows is setup reinstall the same copy over the top. not sure if this works though haven't tried it.

Scott.
The version i got was an upgrade version. When I went to install it I was given the option to format my hard drive, therefore giving a clean install. no problems with it at all
