Haven't updated this in a while. Not alot has really happened as i am saving towards a place for me and the misses.

Heres what i have been upto:

This is where the xsi used to be kept - My dad went ape when he saw the grass.....or lack of.

He told my my car had to go.......he wanted me to trade it in against a new car - For him! So i decided to ask my grandad if i could rent/borrow his spare garage.

This is what i faced

Got the car out....started 1st time after a month (Also my 180bhp TDI Ibiza in the background)

After sorting out the garage the car was fitting back in with a bit more space to work. I had to put some of my grandads stuff back in.......hes 93........and would kick my ass all over the shop if i chucked it out!

This is only half the crap i took down the tip / tat man had off me.

Not much more left to tidy before i take my tool box down

Well now the toolbox is at my grandads.....and jeeeez its heavy really should of removed my tools:

With my tools with me i got to work on the xsi..........whilst it was hammering it down outside!
2 old rear shocks with 1 shiney Spax.........think i had already fitted the one

I then set to tackle the front. Complete leg off

I would of got the standard damper out but i had forgot my stiltons to get the locking nut off.

I have started to clean up the arches.

Before:

During:

Got a lick of hammerite on the front suspension legs. I have removed the standard dampers and will fit the spax when the legs are fully dry

Before:

After:

Legs built up with new spax dampers and 60mm spax springs

Got a couple of coats of hammerite on one of the arches

Started to bolt the suspension back in place

I have now got both arches painted up and the car back on the ground.

Here is a pic of the finished arch:

Also today my black battery box arrived. I think it may be slightly too big to go behind the passanger seat but i shall have ago at fitting.

As i finish work at 11:30 on fridays i thought i would go to my mates garage and get the tyres taken off the vtr wheels so i can put them on the 106 S1 rallye Steelies. Currently they have 175/65/R14 balloon tyres so going for 185/55/r14 will be much better handling and also look better.
I will get down my mates garage again next week and get the tyres onto the steelies.

Here is a couple of pics i took while the xsi was out.

Pic with my Ibiza TDI

I think if you have the seat a notch or 2 forward it will fit nicely but i will look at fitting this week and see how it looks.

Cheers Alex. Yea its not a bad little spot out the way. I have spent many hours in there when i had my corsa putting the engine in it. Can be that little bit too small at times but all ok for a tincan french car.

Thanks Saamuell, Appreciate it. I do like the rough look of the xsi. Think i will go as far to say i prefer it more than my vts as im not scared to rip bits off and take a grinder to it.

Cheers Sam. Yes getting there slowly. Think i have most of the big components now. Want to get the car all sorted and on the road in March.

That will be interesting.......haha take it for a drive incase it never works again? I have faith in you! Not considered the old devils engine ....16v?

Few little bits turned up this week. Nothing of much interest tbh. Just replacing broken bits

2 brand new standard side repeaters
1 headlamp adjuster + clips
2 Outer door handles

And this week i won 2 tyres on ebay £5, and a 10 minute drive from my house. They are both 185/55/r14 and one will be going on my spare wheel

On wednesday this week i took the spare wheel into work and it has been sandblasted, treated and sprayed in EFA (Europeon Fighter Aircraft) Gearbox paint. I collected wheel today and this it what its looking like:

Before:

Now:

I break up from work on Monday until 4th January 2010 so im hoping i can get alot done on the car.
