Look on provisional marmalade or just run a quote with you as secondary driver with provisional licence.

Or don't bother because you won't get a quote on most sites being under 17 anyway

Default Under car corrosion

Hi guys, I have a project saxo I am doing up. Wondering if anyone knows if this will be an mot failure....

Hard to describe without a pic but...

Someone has previously jacked up the car both sides like inbetween jacking point and chassis leg, just behind front wheel arch. They have crushed part of the body underneath where there is shaped metal and some plastic gromits.

Over time it has now rusted and rotting away.

Does anyone know what this part of the underbody is for and if it will effect mot.

Cheers

Ross

Yes it will fail(although pics would be good)its 30cm away from a load bearing point,I know exactly where you mean as mine corroded there. The rubber grommets are for drainage they often get blocked leading to water just sitting there.

nice one, im gonna do the same. just found another forum about same thing, apparently its a jacking point (just not a very good one). I suppose it doesn't have to be the same shape as before as long as its solid!

If your car is regularly serviced, you generally have nothing to worry about

My MOT is due in October and my Power Steering doesnt always kick in when I start it. It can take a good couple of mins to kick in, is this a new pump job?
Thanks

Don't think a dodgy pump will fail , just a leak

Nice guide on MOT part. Just parted with a chunk of cash to get parts done on me saxo making claims that it had no advisers on MOT done in May. Yet has had full set of brake discs and pads done front and back and a bunch of other stuff. Only just got the car. How would one actually make a compliant and look at getting part of the funds back paid on the car parts and get the car dealer to refund or make a complaint against?

Out of interest how much does it cost to get the pads and discs done all together roughly ?
